    Do you think Rudy T coaching the Olympic Basketball team will help or hurt Rockets recruiting?

    On one side -- there goes his summer, and any time he would have to wheel and deal.

    On the other side -- He will have a chance to get the inside scoop on some very talented players, and maybe catch the inside track on a couple of free agents.

    Rudy will convince Hill and Duncan to take the minimum to play for the Rocks.

    Maybe if Hardaway shows anything at the Olympics he can get to play Rocket 2nd string pg.

    Wow, it's amazing to believe that if we had Tim Hardaway, he'd play off the bench on this Houston team. =)

    I think it will help. Rudy has the final say so on trades and all, but CD is really the guy that does all the work and all the talking. Rudy is obviously only a phone call away even if the time difference is ridiculous.

    We all know Rudy doesn't sleep anyway!

    It will help tremendously, especially with Duncan. CD will be doing the trades, but Rudy builds the relationships. He's the guy everyone wants to play for. They'll build a memory of conquering the world, and say to a few guys, "We're building a nucleus of young guys who will take us to the championships for many years to come, if you join us.
    <OL>
    Let's have some fun and make history."

    Duncan and Carter ... "We've got Francis, Mobely, Anderson, Thomas, Swift, and we need one or two of you! Under the new CBA, if we can a gather a group of great rookies who are inexpensive, we can keep the whole team together as long as we want, since we also have a great owner who will do what it takes to win."
    [/list=a]
    ... year, after year, after year, until they change the CBA so we can't win anymore by keeping all our players, of course.

    Now, if Popeye's trades come through, and we get Odom and Duncan, and then can get someone else after Dream leaves, geez!

    Uh-oh, grandiose delusions setting in again ... my therapist warned me about that.
