So much threads regarding the Amare trade. With all the speculations it would really be a downer if nothing happens. All angles have been discussed. Scenarios, line ups, pros and cons, so its time to know the truth. :)

why is hard to believe that it's up to houston to pull the trigger? The rockets have more to lose in this scenario than phoenix. I can't see phoenix getting this much talent in any other trade. If they try to trade amar'e alone they're going to get screwed and get a dea like the shaq deal, where they get back expiring crap. If tmac comes back healthy, then they come out very very well here, if he doesnt, landry and brooks is solid talent and tmac comes off the books..

if this trade does happen...amare becomes our starting power foward...and that moves scola to the bench??? that doesn't make much sense

Force them to give their first round pick with it, package that with cash and possibly future picks to move up and get Ricky Rubio.

What in the heck is Ben Wallace?

Crossed up information considering the Shaq trade. They are going to want offense for Amare.

If we get Phoenix' 1st pick then this is easier to swallow.

I read on some Suns boards that they are reporting that the Suns are done dealing for now, and that IF they were to trade Amar'e, it would be for someone like Tyson Chandler. Of course, at this point, everyone is speculating, and nobody knows the truth. I would not be surprised at all if this was all just a smokescreen set-up by Morey, and that in reality, he's working on something completely different.

bigS...they were talking about it as in what would happen after the shaq trade, as in, the shaq deal is done, now they need mobile defensive big men...wallace may be one of them, but it sounds like they want another, plus Wallace may still be bought out..

We have to get there pick or at least be able to get a pick. I know I've done this to death, but if we get rid of Brooks I want a pick to draft Patrick Mills. I know people will say he isn't good enough, I'm aussie biased, but I've never been excited by an Australian Basketballer like I have about Mills.

    PG - Lowry/Mills
    SG - Artest/Barbosa
    SF - Battier/Wafer
    PF - Amar'e/Scola
    C - Yao/Hayes

We can don't have to play Yao as many minutes with Amar'e moving to center with Scola maintaing his minutes next to him.

We can also go even smaller with Scola or Amar'e at center with Lowry, Barbosa, Battier, Artest.

Different possibilities, but we need a pick to get a young point guard to back up Lowry.

Well it sounds like Yao may not be back at the start of the season, so we'd be going Amare at C and Scola at PF to start.

But I think we use Yao Ming in a more limited role. Let him start the game but don't give him as many minutes, and kinda split between him and Scola. And when Yao's out we use a much faster 2nd team with Scola and Amare in.

IMO I think we would do better with Amare over Yao because it would allow us to move faster, but we aren't moving Yao. I think we could make something work rotating Scola, Yao, and Amare between PF and C.

Tmac + Landry + Brooks is too much unless you're getting back a top 10 NBA player which Amare is not. Adding Landry to the package I can understand when you're bringing in an elite post player but tossing out the guy who blossomed in the playoffs and who happens to be one of only two guys on the team at his position is not right. Then again, Morey is the man so I'm sure he has a PG deal on the back burner if this turns out to happen.

Where there's smoke there's fire and I'm starting to think Amare is going to be a Rocket by week's end. I hope it doesn't happen though.

I like Amare ... but, if there ever was the possibility of getting Paul and Chandler, I'd like that more ...

at the end of the day, if this trade goes down, we'll have Amare,Barbosa, and a point guard from the draft. I think that is what DM is waiting on, to see if we can make this a bigger trade and get a lottery pick. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with T.J. Ford, since he is on the block.

    Exactly. Every word. Brilliant.

Yao insurance plus some interesting line-ups with the Scola, Yao, Amare combinations. Hope you are reading Morey.
