The timing of the release of this information, on draft day, is interesting.

Rockets rule Yao Ming out indefinitely with foot injury:

He may not even be ready for the start of the season.

"Unfortunately Yao's foot hasn't healed the way we had hoped at this point and our next step is to consider what we can do to get Yao ready for the start of next season," Yao's agent, John Huizinga, told KRIV-TV in Houston. "Obviously he is disappointed."

The team said the original treatment plan called for Yao to cease all physical training and to use a walking boot to immobilize the foot and promote healing.

Team spokesman Nelson Luis said late Wednesday night that Yao and the Rockets will consult with doctors before proceeding with a new course of treatment.

Earlier Wednesday, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey called Yao the "cornerstone of the team" and said he had no intention of trading him, no matter what another team might offer. The Rockets have no picks in Thursday's NBA draft and Morey said he's trying to acquire one.

O well better to happen now than end of season. I can live with him playing 60+ games in a season and last through the playoffs, than the reverse.

Does an injury happening now make it any less likely that it could happen again at season's end? I don't see why that would be so.

Walking boot, no crutches. But like I said, I had my fracture for about a year before I actually found a treatment that did the job. So quite possibly I already had some sort of healing.

Does hoping that it happen early than later in the season = better or worse. Any player can have 2 injuries in a year, however the point is still stands, I rather he miss the 1-2 months than the last 1-2 months.

Lord if you think he is going to be injured regardless what happens, than you have in essence have made up your mind on what you think about him.

Whats the point of debating with somebody who won't bend.

That's basically why I stopped responding to you in the other thread. Still deluding yourself into thinking Yao's injury history isn't a cause for concern?

I am going to step out on a limb and guess you are likely not 7'6" and 300+lbs; the physics with Yao vs. humans of normal size just aren't the same

Awww poor Yao has a fractured foot again wahahahaha

This is not that much of a big deal. It is June. The season starts in November. There is plenty of time for his foot to heal. Guys are acting like the season starts next week. Yao's foot can rest now. Now that he isn't playing with the Chinese team he has the whole offseason to rest.

Yao's injury has done 2 things.

    1. Makes Tracy McGrady much harder to trade now depending on the offers Morey is getting. With Yao uncertain for the start of the season the Rockets need someone to score.

    2. Makes the resigning of Ron Artest more likely. With Yao possibly out and McGrady likely out who is going to step up and score?? Can Scola do it alone? NO. Battier? No Brooks? no. This team is going to need someone to score.

Yeah because my 37 posts has me labeled. I am all for Trading Yao when it makes sense or acquiring players who help and I also realize Yao is our franchise player. So I am not going to sit here and disrespect a player who gives it his all for the Rockets.

When Ryan Bowen was here, I cheered for him because he played hard with his limited talent, I liked him because he gave it all for his team, just like Scola, just like Yao, just like Dream, just like Kenny smith, etc....

So you will have to excuse me when I get slightly irritated by folks who attempt to bash any rocket player(Yao and T-mac cover 60% of the threads here) they have a chance when they give it all. Sad thing is I am new and it only takes a few posts to realize there are some people on this board who just hate Player A.

I won't disrespect any player who gives 100% effort to the Rockets.

Yes because Clearly you said so.......

Okay mister i give 1 liner.

You stopped responding because your remark "Clearly Declining" has ZERO base besides you said so.

I sooner rather believe our GM who said last year was Yao's best year than a poster who "Clearly" thinks otherwise.
