Asa Pacers fan, I think that they would, if they re-sign Jack who is a FA. Jack outplayed Ford and was more of a pass-first guy who gained the favor of coach O'Brien.

Ford is definitely on the block and Landry would definitely fill a need.

If the Pacers would agree then imagine the Rockets getting Amare then TJ Ford. Wow!!! Cant wait till the season starts.

People are seriously too attached to Brooks and Landry. Its like they say in the stock market- never marry your stocks. ANY player could get traded. Everyone has a price.

I don't think people are too attached but the trades most people throw out there with them are either completely improbable or not as good for what we are giving up.

Brooks is our starting PG and people have us trading him and T-Mac for average forwards and a first round pick in what most consider a disappointing draft class. I mean most of the top flight point guards haven't even played that many games outside of high school.

Don't let D. Rose fool you, effective starting rookies on playoff teams are an anomaly not the norm. I'm willing to gamble with known commodities we've seen up close then gamble on guys on the downside of their careers or rookies.

But if you could get Derron Williams for Brooks and McGrady, I wouldn't be opposed all things considered.

    I disagree.

You can't teach court vision and leadership.

    You can teach a jumpshot.

    Fact:

If Brooks does not score, he is absolutely worthless.

I wish Rafer had court vision...

I think Kyle Lowry has Andre Miller type potential.

I think Aaron Brooks has Bobby Jackson type potential.

honestly, I like Lowry a lot more than Brooks. He just plays with this energy and strength- and he doesn't do too many stupid things. Hes become one of my favorite players. A championship team needs to have a starting point guard that looks to pass first, not score. Brooks is a good scorer, I just don't think that hes as effective if we have bigger scorers in the lineup.

Engrave this on my profile: Aaron Brooks will be an All-Star in this league.

Yes I have said it before and will keep repeating it again. He has the same stuff as Tony Parker in terms of speed, quickness and ability to get by his defender. Also he has a 3 point shot as a much better weapon in his arsenal than Parker ever had. Morey managed to snatch him before the Spurs had a chance. Give him time to work on his game and he will dominate PGs in today's game. Let him develop a tear drop / floater or pull up J and he will be unguardable. The game today is more favorable toward speed and guards rule the game right now.

Morey DO NOT TRADE BROOKS or you will regret it forever.

Tony Parker is little bit taller. And I am not sure when Brooks will be an All-Star when you have guards like Deron, CP, Parker and Billups at point guard in the West. I don't see a Western All-Star team with more than 3 PGs at best. You know Kobe and Roy will be there if healthy. So that's potentially 6 guards off the top and you have what 12 spots on an All-Star team.

Not sure when you are thinking he will make a team, I don't think it will be next year...

Maybe he is using the Clyde Drexler definition of All Star.

All Star - average player who has a 20 pt night every 10-15 games or so. Does not ever have to make an All Star team.

Rafer did learn how to shoot but obviously you can't teach a person how to finish a floater.

When was the last time a 6' and under point guard made the All Star team not named Allen Iverson?

If the Chinese posters on this board can be believed, Brooks is despised by a lot of the fans and even the media folks in China. So no All-Star votes or lucrative shoe deals for Aaron, I'm afraid.

I'll disagree on your statement Landy has hit his ceiling.

Last season saw T-Mac and Yao go down on injuries.

Who took up the slack? Scola, Brooks and Landry. The rest of the team, for that matter.

    It's these players I wouldn't trade--Scola, Brooks, and Landry.

I understand inquiries have been made about McGrady. I'd be more willing to let McGrady go and his huge salary to go for a prototype kind of power forward fitting the mold of Otis Thorpe who in addition has the ability to block shots. I mean Scola is good. But its seems the PF position is now rotated among Scola, Landry, Hayes.

See what the Rockets can get in return for McGrady, Artest, Hayes, Brian Cook.
