Shaq is going to love nothing more and wish for nothing more than to play LA in the Finals.

Cleveland needs to sign Szczerbiak to a 1yr maximum deal and create an "artificial" expiring contract. Because unless they can add a Vince Carter I just don't see them contending. Even with Shaq.

it helps the suns because wallace will agree to a buyout and pavlovic is only guaranteed about $2M of his $5M contract. the suns will save more than $10M this year. considering the financial struggles of the suns owner, that's a major help.

i'm pretty sure this is not steve kerr's idea of making the team better.

i think there is a decent chance that he does not play as well.

How bad would it suck if Ben Wallace (or Pavlovic) failed his physical and the deal got upheld!? Hah :p

I think its not going to work honestly or if it does they will be dominate like the celtics where....

lakers took 2 years of good records to win title now
cavs 2 years of good records may lead to a title

if we trade tracy we will not go to finals probably even playoffs

Well if you are tired of players being given away for nothing then you might wanna not pay attention to basketball for the rest of this summer and next year, because I anticipate a lot more of it. Every deal this summer has been about money. Let's just hope Morey can hop in and get some loving too....

The big question now is if Nash likes this trade...

great idea. considering how valuable large ending contracts are these days, i wonder when we will see a team try this.

i'm with you that shaq doesn't put them over the top. it definitely doesn't do anything to keep lebron. why haven't they looked to add any young players around him instead of rebuilding an aging team every 2 years?

I can see it both ways. Yes because they can go back to their running ways, but no because it may send a message to him that they have given up. Not that they were contenders to really begin with but..

Might as well just consolidate the league to around 8-12 teams since it seems only the good teams are trading for the good players. If no more moves are made as of this moment there are only 3 teams in the East and 3 from the West that have ANY chance of going to the Finals. Outside of that each conference has 2-3 decent teams and everyone else is basically trash.

i'm pretty sure he knew they were going to blow things up and rebuild this season. dumping shaq saves money. moving amare into a few young pieces is next. he's too loyal to request a trade, but we'll see if that changes around the deadline.

Moving Z for a SG or another PF will be hard. The Cavs will need to use the MLE to try to fill the gap as best as possible.Has Varejao opted out?
