You do realise America would win a war against China, so their not worried about China. America has the biggest Navy in the world by far, and would blockade China with ease. The only reason N Korea is still here, is because of S Korea would get turned into a waste land, if N Korea was ever attacked. N Korea has most of it big guns pointed at S Korea, and is just waiting for a excuse to open fire.
You are reading too much into my posts. I asked if that was the country about those pics. Simple question....could have been a simple answer. Then I threw my quick opinion.
Thanks God it's not the USS John S. McCain the Third out near Korea. It would have tucked tail and run back to the other side of the Pacific by now. Owwwww. Anyways, North Korea is a joke. I say we just do a little surveillance on their government headquarters, wait till a meeting is in sessions, and then wipe the whole government out with a few bombs (no nukes though), all the while invading by land, air, and sea.
Of course we're worried about China. We'd win the war, but it'd turn us economically into a Latin American country. The truth is we really don't care as much about S. Korea as we are about China, otherwise we would've wiped out N.Korea during the invasion in the 80's (I think it was the 80's, N.Korea got with a 1000 yards away from the capitol). All you have to do is imagine what it'd be like if China didn't share a border N.Korea. It wouldn't exist. Kim Jong Ill would've been mysteriously assassinated by rebels with alot of shading funding. With that said, I'm not worried about N.Korea at all. A large part of their economy is based on international aid and they're afraid of being irrelevant so they're waving their swords. Madame Albright stated paraphrasing... "that's the language of N.Korea". They're just talking to us.
Side note, Kim Jong Il may seem like a mad man, and probably is but he's not completely stupid. On one hand, he has military hardliners who would stage a coup in a minute if he were to set about reforms. He depends on them for support and power and they depend on his symbolism to keep their privileges. On the other hand, he has the masses who are starving that needs to be kept in check. How do he keep the poor and the elite in check and keep from dying? He can't institute social reform and consequently economic reform. The only way out is pretty much blackmailing for foreign aid.
He's not going to fight a war he knows he will lose for sure. Better just to sabre-rattle and keep the status quo. Ruling an impoverished country beats the hell out of a life sentence in a S. Korean jail.
