Guys, I live near Meyerland and I am looking for a guy to trim trim/prune a large tree at a fair price. I would like a professional since my Dad got "a guy" to do it and a branch fell on his roof. No damage but I don't want a guy to just climb the tree and cut away.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but I've learned this little tidbit:

If it's any kind of oak tree, a pruning company may or may not trim it (because of oak wilt). If they do agree to trim an oak tree, they should also "dress the wounds".

Just something to consider - I'd be leery of a company that agrees to trim an oak this time of year and doesn't talk about sealing it afterward.

Look up landscaping companies and get quotes. Luckily there are lots of forums for the area I live around where people make recommendations about who to use and not use. That's saved me a ton of money on work I got done.

Something else you may want to try : I wanted to rip out a couple of bradford pears I have growing in my front lawn. My neighbor called a professional crew to remove a couple of smaller trees she had growing in her lawn. I walked out and asked them how much they'd charge to remove my 2 bradford pears. He asked me "you wanna go through the company or through me?" Of course his price would be much cheaper. But of course that also carries its risks, I guess. Just another idea.
