    I guess he doesn't plan on running for re-election. The mistress theory, or maybe a drug-bender, sounds pretty dang close. Now I'm thinking about Burt Reynolds's character in Striptease.

    I know, right? It's just weird and funny. Poor South Carolina is so messed up anyway; the party of the governor is not really relevant to the oddity of such a major official going on a spirit quest.

    Still, leaving his family on Father's Day was a nice touch and to go out of the country for a tryst shows this guy has style.

    I have to say - I'm impressed with him in his press conference. He's being open with details about how he met her, how it started, his mistakes, etc. Kind of weird and sad, but very different from your typical politician that just apologizes and walks away.
