Hey guys, you think we can get Nick Young from the Wiz? Now that they are stockpiled in 2-guards Young is the odd man out. He has shown some flashes, and it could not hurt to have additional insurance and offensive firepower if t-mac goes down again.
McGrady & Landry to Phoenix for Amare Suns save bucks with macs expiring deal and get an athletic forward in landry Brooks/Lowry Artest/Von/James White Shane/Barry Amare/Luis* Yao/Joey Luis can split time between 4 & 5 and get as many minutes as a starter.
I live in DC and unfortunately have been dragged to quite a few Wiz games. Nick Young is the real deal.
Given my very long tenure as a Rocket's fan, I have seen few inspiring drafts. Most have been head scratchers. I expect little, and doubt I will be disappointed.
not sure where to post this.... Lior Eliyahu (Rockets) is a bit of a tweener as a combo forward, but this is the second time in three years he's put up very strong translated numbers and at 23 he could be ready to make the jump as the league's first Israeli player. The bigger issue may be fitting him into Houston's complicated dance with the luxury tax. from Chad Ford espn insider article....
Who ever thinks we will trade for an allstar that is on the block FOR SURE needs to rethink who our GM is.
from the dreamshake.com http://www.thedreamshake.com/2009/6/4/899278/draft-thoughts-2-0-could-budinger Would Budinger be a good fit in Houston? From what I saw this season, and from what the scouts have said about him, I could definitely see him in a Rockets uniform. He's got range, is one of the best athletes in the draft, and can, unlike Von Wafer, rebound from the two-guard positon. Scouts say he lacks defensive intensity, but a little pep talk from Shane Battier or Ron Artest could change that. The biggest worry with Budinger is that he could end up like Joe Alexander. But I think Chase is much more refined offensively and is a much more lethal scoring threat. Alexander solely relied on athleticism in college, and it didn't translate to the NBA. Budinger has more tools to work with. He would be a best-case scenario for us were we to find a seller in the 15-22 range.
Gotta see him in camp. Unless he improves his outside shooting to an NBA level,he won't be able to succeed IMO.
Connor Atchley worth a shot I know I'm a UT homer, but as a dirt cheap option for a backup center and a three point marksman with size, Connor Atchley might be a decent fit. He could be a Matt Bullard with more center skills - he's a shot blocker and has a nice sweeping hook shot. He needs to bulk up a bit and needs some coaching on low post moves, and needs some advice on better rebounding. But as a junior, he was bordering on a first round draft pick. Took a big step backward his senior year, but it is partially because his team was loaded with talent and he seems to be a complimentary player. He averaged 2.1 blocks per game as a junior in only 27 minutes. His minutes dropped to 18 per game as a senior. Didn't help that he got smashed in the face and took a bunch of stitches in the mouth mid-season. http://www.nbadraft.net/players/connor-atchley What do y'all think?
I'm not sure. Depends on what trades go down. He may be a cheap option. I do know, he did go to my HS but not that that matters.
after watching him last year, I have to say no. Not sure what happened to him but I don't think it was because the team had too much talent around him
