    solid move for the bucks

Johnson is a solid up and coming prospect that could be a great backup PF/Center.

for some reason I see all 3 players the spurs traded back in a SA uniform by december

if the bucks re-sign sessions and villanueva, i'd say their GM is automatically in the running for GM of the year. two great moves so far.

Oberto's contract is 50% guaranteed until July 1st. They have a week to decide.

i bet the decision has been made. they're cutting him for the cap space to pursue FA's this summer. hopefully they land gordon and plan on moving rip for an ending contract.

    that's the one.

if rip is replaced by gordon and dumars wants to get rip off the books for the 2010 summer, then tmac is a strong possibility.

Amir needs to play in the open court to thrive as a face up 4. I'm not sure if the Bucks will be a good fit for him. He would look good in Phoenix. Perhaps he might do better here with lesser expectations.

The Pistons better not release Oberto because if that happens and He signs back with the Spurs plus the possibility of Bowen and Thomas doing the same, then the Spurs would have gotten Jefferson for absolutely nothing.

They sacrificed their future salary cap flexibility. I would hardly call it "for nothing". The Spurs are a good team and with Jefferson they will be a better team but:

    1. Manu is a shell of his former self
    2. Duncan, as great as he is, is slowing down
    3. Their bench..wait....what bench?

The Spurs, after next year, is just going to be Parker and Jefferson with a dash of Duncan. They're a team to be respected but this isn't a "Gasol to LA" move by any means.

And as for Oberto re-signing w/ the Spurs, he's trash so it's nothing more than just adding warm, cheap bodies that is familiar with the SA system.

    I completely disagree.

The Spurs were able to make it to the 3rd seed of the playoffs in THE WEST and still put up a decent fight with Dallas.

RC Buford is a genius GM (a few minor mistakes excepte) and if he thinks the team has a serious chance at a championship he'd probably be right.

Manu is not a former shell of himself! Hes just injured. Just because Gilbert Arenas is injured doesnt mean hes not good anymore. And when Manu was playing he was only probably 50 percent fit.

Tony Parker is currently playing as hot as ANY PG in the league at the moment and hes only improving.

    championship contenders for sure.

    Morey! where are you

The Spurs still got Jefferson. Their core is aging but still effective. You are right they are championship contenders. I will be surprised if they truly get Jefferson for nothing. Sacrificing cap space or not, the bottomline is winning the trophy.
