man, i was under the assumption that berkman wasn't at the game because of the birth of his daughter. what a stupid game to pick to give him a night off.
yeah, i thought so too. they certainly seemed to imply that. but then they showed him in uniform being honored before the game for his 300th hr.
This is unf'nbelievable. The Indians are on the verge of blowing another huge late lead to an NL Central team. 5-0 entering the bottom of the 9th. Now it's 5-4 with 2 men on.
Wow, bases loaded and a 3-2 count on LaRoche and LaRoche pops out but that was ridiculous. That would've been about the 5th game the Indians bullpen handed away in the last week or so to an NL Central team.
In a situation that may be the only pinch hitting opportunity of the night, Cooper selects Kata instead of Berkman.
Has anybody else noticed that Arias seems to have a ball slip out of his hand almost every time he pitches? When he first pitched for us last season, I think it was raining and I figured that was why the ball slipped but it seems to be something else. Maybe it's his grip. I think I heard JD say something about his grip but I didn't catch it.
this is admittedly 65% hindsight, so i won't pile on too hard, but he should have taken a shot letting bourn steal 2nd there. olivo has no arm.
Yea, probably so. Either way, we had a pretty good situation there and couldn't capitalize with our fastest guy on 2nd and two of our best hitters at the plate. Maybe Puma will be the hero.
I was actually wondering why he didn't let him attempt a steal before bunting, but you don't really want to take a strike and giving yourself only one chance at a bunt attempt.
I am finally done throwing my temper tantrum at Carlos Lee. Seriously is it too much to ask his fat a** to run hard down the line!!!!!! I just twittered that that there is nothing more irritating that watching Lee loaf down the first base line. None of this would be allowed if Bagwell and Biggio were still here. I know Biggio was here in 2007 it just seems that Lee has gotten worse. He is a disgrace to the game. He shows no respect toward playing the game the right way.
