Were truer words ever spoken? :p

For the record, I tend to disagree...about your stance, not the sandwich thing. I have too much faith in Morey to improve this team with what we've got to be happy if we do nothing. Everyone's talking about how we almost beat the Lakers without Yao, etc. but that's in the past and shouldn't beleaguer improvement.

No. We can not stand still. What we need is a true certified superstar or up and coming superstar stud that will bloom this season under Rick Adleman's system. If Tracy Mcgrady or Ron Artest can not be that player, then we need to find someone who can be. We weren't a healthy Yao from beating the Lakers. We were still missing alot of pieces. We played with heart but we woke a sleeping Giant that series. If we are going to stand still then we are not going to go anywhere. There is alot of work that needs to be done in order for this team to truly be even considered a threat to win the Championship vs a healthy Lakers or Celtics. When Kevin Garnett went down that team was still very legit Contender. Big Baby stepped up and so did their other big men. We need to have that capability. Just like when Bynum went down last season for the Lakers, they could rely on other players to fill that void. We have yet to achieve that luxury. Standing still would be the Rockets largest mistake. Our goal is to win it all and not just make it deep into the playoffs next season. The ends will just have to justify the means now. Liking the player or not is just not an option anymore especially with Yao's window of oportunity of being a cornerstone is very quickly diminishing. He's not getting healthier nor is he getting younger.

    Yes, I'd be happy.

We're in win-now mode. I'd rather acquire proven players than mess with draft picks.

Like Al Green said, let's stay together. Of course, he wasn't singing to Ron or T-Mac.

Now that the team's division rival is improving with trades, I would be disappointed if Morey did not get new pieces that would take the team to the finals. The success in the playoffs showed what this team could be. They should try to add to the spots needed to compete with the likes of the Lakers.

I would not be happy if we got nothing. We have a $20 million dollar piece of trash on team. Trade him for something and lets make a run at the championship!

No. Now that we got the first round monkey off of our back I'll be disappointed with anything less than a championship. I'm greedy.

Eh, I personally don't care if we trade up and get a mid-early 1st round pick or not... infact, if getting a decent draft spot means trading away Landry and/or Brooks then I don't want to do that at all.

I'm quite a bit more concerned about getting another important piece to the championship puzzle via a FA signing or trade; I think it would be good for us to do something along those lines-even giving up Tmac, Landry, Brooks or some such combination as a means to bring in a player/s that can propel us to a title. But as much as I would like to see a great new addition to our roster, I don't want to see that addition come at the cost of team chemistry or the team's future.

I think we have a great team already assembled; with great chemistry and balance (on many levels), and to risk all that I think we'd have to be getting quite a deal. Like most of you, I think our team could certainly use a little something to get us over the championship hump, but if we neither gain or lose and the team remains exactly the same... I still think we'd have a good to great shot at a title. If Ron Artest stays on and continues his level of play, T-Mac comes back and contributes near the level he played at during his last "full" season, and our young players like Brooks, Landry, and Wafer all improve we could certainly win a championship.

To sum it up, I feel like keeping Ron Artest in Houston is the most important offseason move we can make... and then any other move we do or don't make is secondary.

Now with the SA trade, I dont feel like we have to make a move but it would be "safe" if we did. If we come out of this draft, I wont mind, but if all we do this offseason is resign Von and Ron and find some scrub backup C, I dont know if that'd be good enough.

i am fine with it, as this is below average class pass 1-10. 1-10 only so - so on average. maybe if we can land top 5, then it may be a different story.

Nope, not now. Spurs got Jefferson and i'm pretty sure the Mavs are going to make some crazy deal that makes them better or worse.

More importantly...Spurs got RJ...and they got better. They are still the division Champs and now it's time to trade away Tmac for something that makes this team better.

Last season, the Rockets got themselves Ron Artest for practically nothing.

You can't have coups every year. We've had a couple the last couple of years with Artest, Scola, and Battier.

Those 3 guys should figure to play prominent roles in next seasons team.

I say, re-up Ron Ron to a nice contract. Let's face it Ron is such a good team player. He plays defense, passes the ball well, and can light it up when needed.

I think this draft will come and go with the Rockets not doing anything significant. They might BUY a 2nd round pick, which is very likely in my opinion - it never hurts to tuck away a potential talent in Europe for a few season with hopes of them coming into their own such as Ginoboli or Scola.

Yes, Nothing after Hasheem Thabeet is going to step in and fill our problems at back-up center....Ricky Rubio is honestly a project and we have a solid point guard....Point guard is the vocal point of a team and AB knows the offense and should be a bit more comfortable knowing he has the job. MLE is the answer

No, I would be pissed if there was all this noise about nothing. However, Id rather get a known commodity veteran guy than a 'potential' superstar at this stage of the franchise. I don't want a draft pick.

this is what confuses me...why are we so active over a draft that has lowered expectations of so many people involved in the nba..

why don't we wait it out and do this next year, because if we need to make any moves, it should be with someone we KNOW will bring experience here...

we're shooting for a bunch of let me downs, and i think it will hurt us in the long run...

we should just wait it out...and keep our roster...and not have anything to do with this draft...

With all these rumors, It would be disappointing if nothing happens. Hard to try not to expect but all these news just makes the anticipation all the more exciting.
