Too lazy to read every page (go Tigers!) so I will just add a draft day rumor post here (instead of another thread):

Source: Trade with Memphis involving McGrady, Brooks falls through
by Tom Martin on Jun 22, 2009 8:13 PM CDT

An inside source with the Houston Rockets told me earlier today that a potential trade with the Memphis Grizzlies fell through. The deal would have involved Houston sending Tracy McGrady and Aaron Brooks to Memphis for the Grizzlies' second overall pick in the 2009 draft and, possibly, an additional Grizzlies player.

No word on who made the offer, as well as who declined it. All I was told is that the deal was on the table and it one of the parties rejected it.

All signs point to Memphis GM Chris Wallace proposing the deal Houston GM Daryl Morey. Morey has stated that McGrady is not on the table, and while Houston may eventually try to move him, it won't be this week.

The fact that Brooks' name was also mentioned makes this a no-brainer for Morey and certainly nullifies the use for this report. But I thought that I would let everyone know, as this is a reliable source (told me about the Nicolas Batum/Donte Greene deals in advance). At least we know for sure that teams are interested McGrady.

And again, to keep everyone in the loop, as Morey said earlier, the most likely scenario is that we don't acquire a pick. If we do, it will be from the late first round to the mid second round.

    I know it is. Lol.

I would throw McGrady in, but there's basically no way to get the contracts to work out....

For that Memphis trade to even work, they would have had to include a few of their highest paid players:

    Darko
    Jaric
    Buckner
    Mayo
    Conley
    Gasol

You have to include about 3 of those, with two of them being Darko and Jaric.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if no deals happen until after draft day. In other words, we don't get any picks. But make a move for a drafted player.

I don't know, just a theory of mine.

from walterfootball.com (surprisingly they have a good mock draft and evaluation of the NBA draft)
    http://www.walterfootball.com/nbadraft2009mock.php mock draft

    http://www.walterfootball.com/nbadraft2009arizona.php

    Chase Budinger

Hill's college teammate, Chase Budinger, came to Arizona with a tremendous amount of hype and immediately lived up to those expectations. His volleyball background makes him a ridiculous leaper with the ability to posterize defensive players who mistakenly try to block one of his dunks. His shot has picture-perfect form and when it is on; the opposition has to guard him all over the floor as he can stretch defenses with his three-point range. The bleach-blond Budinger has a decent repertoire with his back to the basket and has no problem posting up smaller defenders.

Even with all those positives, Budinger's stock has dipped during the past season. He likely would have been a lottery pick if he declared after his freshman or sophomore seasons. This past year however, Budinger didn't make the strides that NBA teams were hoping he would. He lacks a "killer instinct" and too often disappears from important stretches of a game. His ball-handling abilities are less than average and he is a liability on the defensive end.

The name value is there and he could potentially go as high as No. 16 to Chicago, but more than likely falls into the mid-20s.

Budinger discussed where he might end up going, given what his agent has been saying to him.

"It's a very broad range right now, too tough to tell, anywhere from 9-25," he said.

Lol, if we get rondo, he's definately starting. I dont see the Celts dealing Rondo to us though, they could definately do better.

    Hey guys,

I made this draft spreadsheet in Excel and figured I'd share it. I hope at least one person can find it useful.

    Download Link

It profiles 73 draft eligible players, listing their most recent season stats and their measurements (including wingspan, vertical, etc.) all in one place for easy viewing and comparing.

I also included a projected draft position for each player based on the average across 3 popular mock drafts (nbadraft.net, draftexpress.com, and realgm.com).

Note that some information is missing. Some players, especially foreigners are hard to find information on.
