I think he'd get a "division by 0 error" followed by a hard drive crash when he plugged the variables for "Daryl Morey" into his MoreyBall formulas.
Thought about it before and I kinda think he looks a little like my lasik eye surgeon. <img src=http://www.lasikplus.com/lasik-center/doctors/dr-jon-lampkin.jpg> dam you morey you screwed up my night-vision !
What I'm worried about is if other teams become leery of dealing with him, thinking they will get screwed.
asif, just looked at how 'screwed' the magic were after we traded them rafer alston. In other news, this thread (ones with lots of pictures from asian sites) had me reminiscent of the pruyen(?? ) guy who used to post tonnes of pictures from chinese sites of Yao. It's too bad he left, I enjoyed those picture threads, this one also.
seeing these pictures confirms something. morey is truly a likable guy (i really haven't seen many pix of him). i'd always heard how awesome he was. it doesn't surprise me that he's able to pull of great deals. he's a warm, likable guy. guys like that attract success.
He is a smart GM though. You can't hide that forever. You're not going to hide the fact that our team's success in these playoffs were basically off of a bunch of high first round/second round players and a couple of players with their very own unique specialties. You can't hide that he has turned the whole mentaility of our team around in just two years. You can't hide that he has high value, low cost players. So, it's not up to whether or not people know about him. That's not going to determine or hold back his success as a GM. It's how he responds to the attention, which will be just fine.
These guys were pretty good, clearly they practiced together cuz they were the only team running plays... but man were they dirty... it really upset me when they played against Calvin Murphy. They were HACKING him like crazy... throwing him to the ground, blatantly grabbing his wrist when he was in the triple threat position... completely unnecessary... You don't do that to a hall of famer ... Anyways, I spoke with Calvin and he was a really cool guy. Told him I missed him calling the games and his "popcorn machine" and "apparently you don't read my stats" lines. He laughed and thanked me but said there was a 0 percent chance he'd ever call a game for the Rockets again, but not because he wouldn't want to. I didn't get to talk to Morey but from what I saw, he seemed really cool as well. He was crackin jokes and giving guys a hard time. I think GMs deal with him because he doesn't BS around and is a straight up likeable guy. They don't initially get the impression that he's going to get the best of them. And I know this is off-topic but I'd also like to share that I spoke to someone "within" and we talked about Rubio. I told them that I was very impressed with his game and that I thought that he'd be Jason Kidd at best and a rookie Brent Barry at worst. He agreed with the Kidd part and said he was "special" and an excellent defender. He said he had "Rondo-like" defense and a "7 foot wingspan" ... I didn't ask about any rumors because I knew he wouldn't go there. I just wanted to know his opinion on Rubio. And if anyone would know about Rubio, it would be this guy. Rubio is the real deal.
Too bad JVG isn't still coach. With Jeff at PG and Morey in the frontcourt, our pick and rolls would be unstoppable!
