I'm watching Conan right now and during his monologue, he said there is a 115-year-old in L.A. I can't remember if he said it was a man or a woman. I suppose it had to be a woman.

at that age, how coherent are you? my grandparents are all in their mid 80s, and seem to be in full control of their minds and bodies, but tack another 30 years on to that?

There are a lot of people over 100 years old that are very coherent. They aren't as mobile as they used to be or move slowly, but they can carry conversations pretty well. My grandfather recently passed away and he was close to 100 and he was stil taking morning walks and fairly active for a guy his age.

I think the oldest people ever lived to be over 120, so this guy was a youngster... :D There are people living now that are older than he was.

In the future, 100 years old will be the new 70s.

my brother is living in japan on a naval base. his son just came to houston to go to HBU and just last night he told me that it seems like there are way more old folks in Japan. he said you would see crazy things like like some 80 year old lady hauling a bunch of junk on a bicycle--UP HILL like it was nothing!

Read the book "Healthy at 100." It's eye-opening how, in many cultures, living til 100 or 115 is normal. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. in many places is virtually unheard-of. There will be centurians running around town lithe with the body of a 40 year old.

I would love to sit and talk to someone that age and get their life's experience.

I've said it time and time again, I think that someone who is 100 right now has lived through the greatest period of advancements in the history of the world.
