i think he may haved called im just to say congrats, prob shouldnt read too much into it.....as for the draft being deep, there's two kinds of depth, the 96' kind with guys like kobe, shareef, ai, oneal, allen, etc. and then there's depth where there's a few sure things, but a lot of guys who'll at least be solid payers, which i think is this draft...

The media keeps on saying how weak the draft is. GMs keep on confirming it. Yet, there's all these rumours of so many teams trying to trade up.

My theory is that this draft isn't as weak as it's reported. All the teams without a top 5 pick are just going along and saying it's a weak draft to throw the misinformation out there in the hopes of devaluing picks if they try to trade up.

if the Rockets acquire a pick in the late 20s, players who will be available and can make an impact right away are

    Darren Collison PG UCLA
    Chase Budinger SG/SF Arizona
    Patty Mills PG St. Marys
    Wayne Ellington SG UNC

If the Rox are willing to spend, and other teams need money, we should buy about ten 2nd round picks. I bet we could get some players out of those ten. If nothing else, after the rookie leagues, maybe we could trade some of them for protected 1st round picks next year.

Well, I mean c'mon... What better place to do an interview from than on the "crapper". Ya know, while you are there, you really have nothing else to do so why not get on the phone and conduct a lil phoner on the radio? Now, just gotta be sure you are in control of your "situation", cant be hearing any grunts on the recieving end...

if there are many quality points, that there is a good chance one will 'slip', and we will grab them.

morey has shown he is all about getting the best player at the most reasonable price.

    creating value.
    see AB, Scola, Landry, Lowry...

I would love to see Morey pickup Patty Mills but unfortunately his attributes are too close to Aaron Brooks. I think this kid is going to be a star and will surprise many.

So, the Rockets have nothing in hand.

All Morey can get in draft night is a bunch of IFs, BUTs, THENs, and ElSEs. It will take many things fall in the right places for the Rockets to get into the 1st round draft. Good luck!

As if he would have said anything concrete and let us lose out on another Brandon Roy or Rudy Fernandez.

I guess you have never seen him play. He's definitely a shooting guard.

sounds like nothing will happen, or it's smokescreen, of course, any good GM woiuld never let other teams know what they want to do.

Morey will get the Rockets back into the draft. The question is how high a pick can he acquire?
