He'd be the perfect guy to get but I have no idea why Atlanta would consider it. They could do it just to be players next year in FA, but that's a huge gamble considering they have a pretty solid team as it is.
i like us getting joe johnson for tmac, or redd for tmac but all the other trade talk i dont really like trading tmac to the knicks is the dumbest thing we can do.
From a chat on hoopsworld, someone poses this question who lives in Atlanta: so take it with a grain of salt santino lucman in atlanta: Rumor has it that Daryl morey is making deals to get JOE JOHNSON in a rocket uniform next season. what do you think is he the missing piece? http://www.***************/Chat.asp?CHAT_TOPICS_ID=334
At best, Joe Johnson is a 2007-2008 version of McGrady. He has great court vision but DISAPPEARED in the playoffs. Plus, hes an inefficient scorer.
let's keep in mind they are not suggesting only trading tmac for joe, but just getting him via free agency after Tmac is gone.. personally i dont get the idea that houston will bench tmac or not even give him a chance to play because he's not going to fit. Even shane didnt fit at time when injured, as well as ron and Yao. the healthier Tmac is, the more he can do, and the more he can do, the more he can adapt to this team...so i think houston has to hope tmac will be ready early so he can come out and play and show what he's got left. If he's back to the old tmac, he may end up fitting, worst case scenario is he doesn't fit, BUT he increases his trade value. If he's not back to his old self, Tmac as a player loses more value, but his expiring contract would still be in play. At this point i dont see many teams really seeking tmac for his skills anyway because he may just walk away from themin the summer...if someone wants tmac is for contract relief, which won't be affected by his health...so expect Houston to wait it out and let him play, unless they get a no brainer deal on the table...
Is anybody an ESPN insider?? They have an article out today talking about the Market for T-mac....if someone is an insider can you please post the article
Curry has another year at $11.2+ million for '10-'11 that's a player option. And he will exercise it. So it is NOT two expirings. Try again!

Yes, but it is free to dream. A great shooter and a player who can create his own shot would be a perfect fit for this team. Getting him would be ideal but it would probably be far fetched. Lets keep dreaming Rockets fans.
this is not surprising. this is a defensive team and seeing one guy slacking is the last thing I want.

considering that the author somehow thinks that eddy curry is an expiring contract and that letting tracy mcgrady merely expire would give us "a boatload of cash" to pursue a max free agent in '10, i can't take any of the rest of the claims made very seriously.
exactly. Please lock&delete this thread and ********* the dreamshake. This one is not worth the bandwidth.
