Kaman, Gordon and the #1 then I WOULD DO IT... BUT ONLY BECAUSE OF INJURIES...

    Doubt LA would.

nope. I will not go for an unknown quality over proven players. Especially when you are putting all your eggs in one basket.

Just look at Oden, his the next big thing, a top 5 center coming into the league, what about now?

Or last year drafts, Beasley, Miami thought he be the explosive scorer that will complement Wade, apparently not yet.

Or 2006 draft, Bargani. The second coming of Dirk.

With the rox showing that they can compete now, why trade your best player for a player that could maybe match him in the future?

Why do we even have to contemplate anything like this? I know the offseason is boring but it is always good to have an even keel.

Remember too that two of Yao's injuries, out of the four, were due to accidents. He has never faked his injuries too as far as I've heard, in fact he pretty much played for many games with serious injuries. I did answer no just to pass time in a poll that is quite ridiculous.

Yao on the decline. LOL. Yeah ok. Maybe you should check out how fast Yao use to move with less weight. The guy use to weight in around 260. All he needs to do is lose 20 pounds.

I would look at this thread through a bet. Anybody would like to bet with me that if Morey trades Yao to any team for anybody right now that he would be fired by Mr. Alexander in a nanno second? You betcha.

No way. This is "the grass is always greener on the other side" mentality so many people seem to have. People always seem to want to make these huge changes, even though the Rockets were a game away from dispatching the team that won it all last year and have some young, exciting players that should be even better this coming year. Why overhaul the whole team, which is what you'd be doing if you traded Yao. Griffin may become a great one, but Yao is proven. He's a skilled physical specimen and a game-changer on both sides of the ball, not to mention an all-around good guy and marketing phenomenon. Why disrupt the team you've built around him? This is especially true when you consider that we already have a good, underrated PF tandem. Let's appreciate what we already have and build on it. Add Tyson Chandler for insurance. Trade McGrady before his next injury. See if you can wrest Rip Hamilton from the Pistons. But now's the wrong time to rebuild the team based on potential, which is effectively what you'd be doing.

A little undersized but has high BBIQ. Top prospect in Quahog.

Griffin is not undersized at all, he is 6'8.5" barefoot and 6'10" in shoes....that is plenty big enough.....

The guys skills are off the chart, his coast to coast rebound and dunks remind me of Sir Charles.

I think he is going to be great right out of the box.

No because Griffin isn't a sure thing. It's hard to say whether he'll be good or great.

Have you seen him play in college? To me, I just can't see the "can't miss" that everyone is talking about. He never plays defence. If you take away his dunks, I haven't seen that much of an offensive game that will translate to the NBA. He seemed like he was able to be pushed around by bigger defenders. There have been a lot of top pick busts in recent memory such as Kwame Brown, Michael Olowokandi(sp?), Andrea Barnani, Darko(#2), Oden(maybe), Stromile(#2), Curry(#4), plus MANY in the top 10. I wouldn't go pronoucing hes the next Charles Barkley, if he becomes Chris Bosh, I think if I were the Clippers I would be happy.

    how does it happen that

0% of the people here have more posts than DD

and 80% realize Yao's value to this team more than DD does.

DD... stay out of that austin sun it's affecting your reasoning.

Camby is just about done and Blake is a rookie. It will be years before he impacts the game the way Yao does.

Trade one of the top 2 centers, if not the top center in the NBA for a rookie?!?

BG "MAY" be a good player in a few years but YAO is great NOW!!!

You guys are being crazy, selfish and cold-blooded. Considering what yao has brought to the city (no Champ though), if you do want to trade yao, at least choose a relatively better home for him, not the lowly Clippers with a very mean boss. Geez ...

for now, hells no. cuz i think theres still bit of gas left in Yao to get us a championship. we would only make that trade years later when we are in rebuilding mode
