Please remember here we only discuss whether Yao should walk away after 2010, not whether the team should trade Yao for some other players. Both may reach the same outcome, but for different reasons.

Let's center our discussions on the relevant topic in this thread.

Ilgauskas had bad foot problems for 3-4 years in a row. He's been injury free for a couple of seasons now. Doesn't mean Yao will or won't follow the same path, but it's possible.

It's not easy being a giant. Shaq does it, but I think he's just too dumb to know if he's hurt or not. Or it could be the Icy Hot pads.

I'd be surprised if yao choose to stay.

He's the best center, and the rockets didn't do enough to build around him. Morey is a good GM, but Celtics, Portland, LA and Denver are getting even better with their picks/moves.

Yao would have won championship already if he was not drafted by the Rockests. JVG ruined his mobility and outside game and turned him into a robot. Adelman came too late.

Anyway, that's why he turned down Rockets' offer twice already. No surprise.

They've done plenty. A title would be in reach if everyone was ever healthy, including Yao.

You are basically saying that if any one of the other 29 teams drafted Yao, he would have definitely won a championship by now.

Only 1 team wins the championship every season. There are several elite players, including some better than Yao, that go home empty handed every season.

It's also possible that if Yao was drafted by another team, he would have never even made the playoffs. That is more likely than saying he would have undoubtedly won a championship by now if let's say, the Grizzlies or Clippers, drafted him.

I think with most fans wanting him gone and dissing him when compared to howard, I think it's time for yao to head east and join lebron. No sense in staying in a place where he's not wanted.

What if LeBron has no interest in playing with a slow, over 30, injury-riddled Yao and pulls an Elton Brand on him and the Cavs?

Yao (Baron Davis) commits to the Cavs (Clippers) to play with LeBron (Elton Brand), then LeBron bolts for some other team, leaving Yao and his Chinese owner buddy in a worse situation than Yao has ever been in during his entire tenure with the Rockets.

While no one is as good as Yao at the center position. IF the Rockets could get a star big man with more athleticism (Amare comes to mind) and a show stopper like Lebron or Dwayne Wade it would be worth it.

I really don't think the Rockets are going to get any better than what the next two years decide.

We've entered a rare period of rebuilding AND trying to contend for a championship at the same freakin' time, so that's weird.

Like many posters said...Yao needs to do what is best for Yao.

If he wants to stay on the Rockets to try to win a 'ship, so be it.

If he wants to go to Cleveland, LA, or a bigger market to get more money, or to contend for a 'ship with another team, so be it.

I think we have collected more doute that ever on Yao's loyality to our team, anyway it IS a good time to trade him as his value is relatively high. I suggest trading Yao for B-Diddy and their no.1 pick, though i doubt the cheapbutt less will do it considering Yao's value in international market.

I expect you to give me a list of more than a handful of players as you promised.

No, Clippers won't do it because then they'll have 3 centers and zack randolph. Also, Les is smarter than you think and there are million reasons why I wouldn't do that trade.
    Baron Davis has elements of:
    1. questionable heart and motivation (didn't get enough of tmac?)
    2. injury-prone career (Yao wasn't enough?)
    3. bad contract (this will hurt us for a long time)

Is Yao a good enough player to power move though. I mean when you look at it from just a reality point of view, the team has won more without him in the lineup. If the gm feels they can get back good young talent, i wouldn't care what endorements we had. What would the Lakers do?

OMG, if I see another thread about 'Should Yao Resign...' I'm going to shoot someone. Holy **** people, come up with something new to talk about, or find one of the previous threads about this if you are curious.

If he asks for the Max then he should GTFO. If he asks for a reasonable contract then he can stay. Reasonable being 5-7 mil per

Yao is very loyal he won't walk away unless the organization don't want him anymore which is highly unlikely.

    Les's head : Money > Championship
