al jefferson > amare. minny would be stupid to do this. and i'm sure it's just talks to see what al can get. we should def. get in on this and i'll trade ANYBODY on our team for him b/c he's THAT good. but minny wouldn't want anyone on this team though.
Jefferson is a beast. He is a no nonsense hard working good teammate. I'd love to see him on our Rockets.
Al Jefferson is a great player, however trading him for Yao is probably not a good idea, unless the sole reason is injury and we can get someone else in the deal besides Al (like a Mike Miller) Al scores alot, but if you look at his scoring of 23.1pts on an average of 19.5 FGA and 5.0 FTA per game vs Yao 19.7 Pts on an average of 13.4 FGA and 5.7FTA per game, it literally takes Al 6 more FGA per game to score 4 more points. (for this season) Defense wise Al has a career 108 Defensive rating vs Yao's 99 Defensive Rating (not a knock but the Dream had 98 defensive rating for his career, but we all know Dream was far better @ defense than Yao, however we had to compare Dreams Declining years where he averaged anywhere from 105-110 defensive rating which increases his rating) In other words Al needs more shots to score more points and his defensive is worse than Yao Ming, which is hard to imagine considering Yao is weak against PNR and mobile Centers (even though he almost outperforms against every center head to head matchup) but Al is injury free, well not this season.
^^ Can we just get his wife, and leave him in Minny? But in all reality, Minnesota doesnt have a big Asian Market, so I doubt Yao would ever get moved to a city like that.
man, i'm probably in the .0001% of posters on this board who can remove himself from homerism and sentimentality and look at everything objectively, and i know that jefferson is better than scola, and if having a draft of all available players in the nba, i'd take jefferson rounds and rounds ahead of him, but i sure would feel bad shipping scola off to minn and i'd hate seeing that happen. i guess it would be a good trade though. maybe we can get telfair with him. i think there's a remote possibility that he could blossom on a good team.
Bash me if you want but I'd do Jefferson for Yao anytime. We would be much more dangerous with Jefferson in our line up than with Yao.
Well it's pretty easy to get Al Jefferson. Trade Tmac + Brooks or Scola to NY for David Lee + draft pick. Trade David + draft to Suns for Amare...then trade Amare to Minny for Al Jefferson. BINGO!!
I wouldn't mind T-Mac for Chandler. Then trade scola or landry and brooks for a sick SG who can also play some 1 (barbosa?) Yao, Chandler, Artest, Barbosa, Lowry Battier and one of our PF's come off the bench, Chandler moves to 5 when Yao's out. If Brooks is still around, he spells Lowry at the 1.
i am on the al jefferson man love bandwagon... the guy didn't just eat yao's lunch last year, he ate every center/pf thrown at him for lunch. with all of the assets on this team there is no doubt in my mind we could put together a better package than amare... landry, brooks, t-mac, artest, battier, lowry, barry. these are all interchangeable and replaceable parts that could make a deal happen... granted...the twolves are hard to gauge with their recent changing of the guard... but al jefferson is the next great post scorer in the league. you have to make that happen if you can...
No Jefferson, because, players are underestimated for a reason, AI is a good example, I do not think he is as good as Landry. Do not let the statics fool you, it was just like the foam economy few years ago.
