I remember that. It wasn't just Fisher though... AK was giving him fits, Harpring gave him some trouble, Brewer was fantastic on him as always and even Kyle Korver out of all people blocked Mcgrady a couple times and did a good job staying in front of him.

What insurance company agreed to insure Tracy McGrady?

Unless, it's a major star or a guy on the brink of becoming a star, I can't imagine it wise for the Rockets to trade the contract. Might as well just keep it and get some great free agent in 2010.

Yes, but which do you think has more trade value (as well as overall value):

    a) McGrady as little more than a $23 million expiring contract

    or

    b) McGrady, a healthy, elite or near-elite wing player with an expiring contract?

Which McGrady do you think teams would give more for?

I have wanted Brad Miller as a Rocket forever!!! Good bounder, defender & shooter. A little quicker than Yao, but not the total offensive threat Yao is. Getter done, Morey!!

I would guess Dec. 22, 2012. Oh, wait a minute! The world ends on Dec. 21, 2012 if you believe the Mayans.

LOL, No way we get tmac for Al Jefferson. We're talking about one of the best low post players in the game. And a #6? C'mon, I'd be in heaven if this trade went down.

I think option "A" has more trade value. I think most GMs are realist and today TMAC is not an elite nor near elite player, IMHO.

McGrady will be gone by training camp. As some have mentioned, it is smarter financially for a team to trade for him sooner than later so that they can let insurance pay him instead of holding on to whatever package they would give up for him and actually having to pay that player(s). The sky is the limit on what the Rockets can get for an expiring $23 million deal that a team may only have to pay half of. A team can literally make up to $12-13 million disappear from their actual payroll. I think Morey is going to bring a big name or two damn good names before the end of the summer.

The Rockets are not going to admit to shopping him but they saw this team with and without McGrady. They don't want him back ruining the chemistry and success of this current team. The sooner they can get rid of him the sooner the distractions and "what about Tracy" questions will be gone.

I'm okay with taking on Amare's contract and Barbosa... Amare can take all the shots if he wants; it's not like Yao's getting the ball as much now with the fronting situation. Scola can come off the bench. Move Landry to SF to split time with Battier. Move Artest to SG, with White backing. Don't resign Von. Package one of the PGs (who's the best in Brooks/Lowry/Barbosa?) with Barry and ship 'em out.

I'm lost on this. If the league knows he is coming back to play that season, then how does insurance kick in on hos contract? I haven't heard of this in any other case of injured players coming back at some point during the year (i.e. Arenas, Brand,, etc).

He meant that Law & Order is everywhere already on cable TV running in syndication (reruns), not that anything is wrong with the show. I like Special Victims Unit, personally...Criminal Intent is the worst one.

The money is coming from an insurance company not the NBA.

If a team trades for an injured player or with an existing condition they do not qualify for any benefits/exceptions from the league.

I'm sure they are looking to trade him but not for junk. Everyone knows that he is on the block. This has decreased the bargaining position of the Rockets. There is probably some hard negotiating going on.

Then go buy a draft pick and try to get a PG like Ty Lawson.

Exactly the rockets aren't going to trade him for spare parts. Their going to try and exploit Tracy's contract situation as much as they can.
