Its time to start looking for a new TV. the most affordable ones I've seen are at walmart and Sam's. They have a Phillips 32 inch for 399.99 and also the Sanyo for the same price. Any other good deals out there for around that price.

How many people tried telling you about the digital conversion when you told them your tv died?

retail stores, even Sam's or Walmart, are usually more expensive than ordering a tv online.

    Try websites like TigerDirect.com, slickdeals.net, bensbargains.net, amazon.com or newegg.com

i've heard good and bad things about vizio.
if you read the vizio reviews on walmart.com, read the bad ones, it seems the vizios break right after the warranty is up.

for $500 you can get a Samsung or Sony or Panasonic

Philips, the newer models are just Funai TVs, they license their brand out now instead of manufacturing TVs themselves.

I heard it's hit or miss.
I know people who've had no problems, but a friend who's in the industry says that have so many refurb westinghouse tvs and he wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

    Radio Shack has a 37" SAMSUNG LCD for $500. It's a Father's Day sale.
    ISO.

    That sounds like a good deal. 37" / Samsung/ $500 / new. Can't really go wrong there.

I've had my Westinghouse for 2 years now, haven't had a single problem. I love it.

Just, it's an older tv....I want one with a faster refresh rate etc.

They're the same as every other 2nd or 3rd tier brand. They're a no frills kind of manufacturer. The tv's I've seen made by them seemed to be designed for the 70's or something. The picture quality on the one or two I tried to adjust in-store never seemed to be great - decent-to-good, but not great.

    Awesome!

I can't believe anyone (who would be posting on an internet message board) would be using a "tube" television. Time warp...

because they don't want to throw money away on a new TV? both of our TV's are tube televisions. There's no reason to replace them if they work fine.
