So DD likes to counter how we shouldn't trade for Amare, why trade Brooks, but then makes a thread about trading our franchise player, the best C in the game who did manage to play 77 games last season. (Definite blow in the playoffs for sure though) lol 80-20% glad to see 80% of us have some sense and logic
hey man, it's the off season. anyone can throw anything around. At least this aint as bad as the"we should fire RA" thread.
R u ****ting me ?! is this a retorical question !! hell no i wouldnt tarde Yoa for the whole clippers roster !!
It would have to be more than camby and griffin. Camby,Jordan,Thornton, and the pick would do it. DD, unless this team pulls off a huge trade and get a impact player, I think we will always have conversations about if yao is healthy. Imo that portland, orlando, and even La have shown that u cann get rid of your best player and come back stronger. I know the basing I will take, but I'm really ready to move forward with a younger team. A year from now, I think we will be having the same discussions. A trade of the players mentioned would allow the rockets to get in transition better. Another deal I would consider would be something from portland.
Trade a center for a power forward? We are not a eastern conference team nor are we aiming to be out of the playoff picture by December.
Blake may be the best player in the draft ... but ... 4s in the NBA need to have a jump shot, so I see Blake struggling to be a 20 ppg man. Rebound wise, I would not be surprised to see Blake among the league leaders as a rookie. I would not do the deal.
In 3 years, if Griffin becomes an average player. nobody will remember this thread. However, if Griffin turns out to be a really great one, DD will dig this one up to prove how insightful he is.
no, u dont trade away franchise, superstar center for an unprove rookie, no matter how much potential he has. and yao has many more yrs left. get the man a quality back up big that can take away some minutes for him then u can see how he plays out for the season.
hell no. 1) yao is marketer's dream 2) you don't trade a center for a PF with no sure-fire superstar potential. griffin will be a good player, but i doubt he'll be a star player. 3) you don't do yao like that trading him to the lowly clippers 4) griffin is too young right now, and we're trying to win. camby has very little offensive game.
The window of oppurtunity for title contention is neared closed, but not THAT much yet. I think things are transitioning appropriately. 2010 offseason is the perfect time to re-shape if things go downhill. I know you gotta trade a player while they still have value, instead of when they turn into the current version McGrady. But this team made a little encouraging leap forward. Changing the identity away from Francis/Mobley after they advanced didnt do much in the long run (though you have to make that kinda trade when its offered). This current team's absolute ceiling is still conference finals maybe more. I'm still interested enough in that.
What PF TANDEM is better than ours? How many teams have 2 PFs that play like ours do? I didnt say Scola was great, I didnt say landry was great. I said together, we are doing great at the PF spot. You have guys like Duncan, Dirk, Amare, Garnett. They are GREAT. But are their back ups better than landry? Im pretty sure if you compared stats at the PF position for whoever we play, our PFs usually beat or match up with the other teams PFs stats.
Looks like DaDakota has moved on and focused is infatuation on a new "unknown" so he can tell us all how right he is about about a basketball talent. Somewhere, Langhi, Boki and VSpan are crying over the loss of their last supporter.
