I don't understand all the messiah talks surrounding Griffin. Surely, he's a talented PF that would surely be a good player down the stretch, but at this point, he's not looking like much more than Michael Beasley, if at all. Remember Beasley was just as dominant, if not moreso, in college.
So, for Griffin alone, it's definitely a no. If you throw in Camby, it'd be somewhat of a wash.

I diagree with those two statements. As of right now, Blake is a pretty athletic and a great rebounding PF. Thats about it. Your points would definitely be valid if he ever develops an offensive repoirtoire.

Well if you disagree you would clearly not even consider it.....

I personally think Griffin is going to be a 20/10 player right out of the gate.

How? He seems to be a Michael Beasley clone, but with less offensive polish. The only reason for his ridiculous hype is that this draft class is so piss poor.

If they throw in camby also I would do it in a heartbeat. Yao is great but his health is killing him. In a way, this off season is the last off season for the Yao's era. If they dont do much to bulk up enuff players around Yao they might as well trade him and start fresh. BG would be great to start fresh.

Fair enough and you may be right, but Griffin has way more tools than Beasley did.....he is a much more polished player.

I may do it. Then, after next season, Yao will opt out and re-sign with Rockets. :D

He's a better defensive player, so right off the bat, he'll be able to jump into a defensive scheme and contribute. But, to say that he'll average 20 points a game sounds ridiculous to me. Beasley is a much more explosive scorer, and he was far from 20 a game.

Scola 12.7 ppg 8.8 rpg 53% shooting in 30 minutes per game
Landry 9.2 ppg 5 rpg 57% shooting in 21 minutes per game
Combine those stats I would surely agree with great PF tandem.

Insane stats... that Beasley matched, if not surpassed last year. I never said Beasley was overall more polished, just that he's more polished offensively, which is undeniable.

    Beasley: 26.2/12.4/1.6 blk
    Griffin: 22.7/14.4/1.2 blk

oh really? so basically you just added the two up? is that right? If my memory served me right, lamacus Aldridge is a very good pf but not great compare to the KG, Amare, Boozer etc and he gave our combo GREAT PF more than they could handle. If they're GREAT why is our offense go thru Yao and not Scolandry? might as well trade Yao because we have 2 GREAT PF.

I am an OU alum so I am a big fan of his and have seen most his games. Blake is not a more polished offensive player than Beasley was but he is way better than Beasley on defense. I would say its a wash between the two. Blake will probably end up being a very good NBA player but may never be a great one.

The main reason I wouldn't do it is because this team is built around yao. To do that trade would start a rebuilding process for the rockets that may or may not take awhile. To many variables to consider when trading a franchise player who has had a team being built around him for years, for a player who is unproven at the NBA level and may or may not pan out. Most signs point that BG will be a great player at the NBA level, but I just cant see us making that trade.

I just wished Griffin was a bit taller. What are the chances of 6'9 PF becoming a perennial player. Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Carl Boozer are the only 3 I can think of that has success with both scoring and defense @ 6'9... Will he be as good as those 3?
