I actually really like Rafer but I am pretty sure his time with the Rockets is over now. You don't trade to get a player you traded away back, Brooks showed he could be effective so we aren't really hurting at the point to make a move like that. And I have no doubt that if Rafer had a say in it, he'd want to be at a place where he could start or at least compete for a starting job. Which could be here but more likely is not barring injury. Best of luck to Rafer once he gets out of Orlando, they did him shady in those finals but he won't be a Rocket short of a FA signing in 2010 to be in a back up role.
Hello, No, and No. I was thinking that Rafer was the lock room problem since we got Ron, this could result in a trade for him and his recent problem with SVG in Magic suggested that it was likely true. Rafer is not great player, but he acts as a team leader when Tmac was not on the team, that is the worst scenario for the current team. Just stay away from the team, we are in a good shape. By the way, When I was watching the games JVG sounds to be really mad on Rafer right now although he loved him during the rockets's time.
i like him as a player. but we don't have a place for him and we're talking about getting Nash already.
Only if we could get him for cheap, which we couldn't. I wish him well and I enjoy watching him handle the ball (and I was a big fan of the Eddie House head slap), but I still don't think he's a great player. His shooting is only good about every fourth or fifth game. If we're going to try and find another PG, I think it should be someone better.
let me be clear here again,I am not talking AB or Lowey is weak side of the team.Yeah, they both have strong and weak points, whether it matters or not depends on what team they're on.IN ROX,passing the ball is the most important, organization is much more dependent than making a sudden attack.SO we need rafer-styled PG,AB is more likely to play well when yao is out ,play the style like Warriors.Bringing him back will not endanger the position of AB and Lowey, they can be together when we play the short lineup.
NO because he cant/or refuses to pass to Yao Ming! Also he is so poor at playmaking. I like him but he isn't the upgrade that we need.
If Rafer had any sort of a shooting touch, I would consider him. Sure, he's 32 years old, but he DID play in 5 finals games. Too bad we have Lowry and Brooks though. If we had only one of the awesome PGs, I'd try to get Alston in a heartbeat. Pros: GREAT leadership Finals experience Knows how SVG teaches, and how Orlando's playbook is set up Won't need to read Rockets' playbook; already knows most of the plays Pulls off AND1 moves from time to time (That's a dealbreaker, Ladies!) Cons: Can't shoot to save his life Age 32 Is a FA right now, right? (So he might want lots of money?)
