This + Command and Conquer. Countless hours were spent on this game. The Sims Nightlife is pretty fun.(well mostly all the sims) Maybe even Zoo tycoon. I like when the polar bears break out of their exhibits and chase the people. It's hilarious. RCT 2 and 1 are easier to play than 3(I have them all ). Try finding the RCT deluxe, or the one that has the expansion packs included with the game.
I used to rabidly collect and play PC games, and there were always a few that I told myself were entering my own personal 'Hall of Fame' - games that I would simply not delete. They were that good. Starcraft (plus the add-on) Neverwinter Nights Baldur's Gate Diablo 2 Age of Empires 2 Freelancer (This really was an amazing game, if you have not played it, grab it) Half Life & Half Life 2 Medal of Honor Call of Duty Dungeon Siege (GREAT fun game!) Far Cry That's just some off the top of my head. Once I started playing things like City of Heroes and then WoW, I kind of lost a lot of interest in keeping abreast of the PC titles.. I have things like Titan Quest, and Warcraft 3 (which I just never have liked, I like AoE2 and Starcraft style just so much more), Doom3, KotOR, games like that, but never really got into them. And now of course it's all about Second Life *grin*
I actually remember playing a demo of this game years ago, and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for reminding me about it (I forgot what it was called). Definitely would like to check it out again. How do Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and 3 compare? I loved the first one, but I never got around to checking out either of its sequels. How good would Sins of a Solar Empire be if I only wanted to play single-player? I remember reading up on it a bit a while back since it got some great reviews, but I did read some criticism about a lack of a single-player campaign. Yeah, but it has been a long time. Probably should see if I can play them again. I'm actually in the mood to play some adventure games. Missed out on a few great ones that were released in the 90s...and probably 2000s, but I haven't kept track of good recent adventure games (do they exist?). I was debating whether I should get this, or Civilization Revolution for the PS3. Maybe I'll just get both.
I guess this game never caught on with the mainstream public, but I thought Morrowind was a great game. The world space was huge and the game was very nonlinear... and quite epic. I think it's probably better than Bethseda's more well known followups.. Oblivion, Fallout 3, etc.
Once the first Starcraft 2 Terran campaign release date arrives, I'm probably going to go back and play the original game just for nostalgic purposes. Damn, what a game.
The did some episodic games of Sam and Max. I haven't tried them, I think they are on steam. As for Monkey Island, this comes out soon. (going to be 5 more I believe in a series). <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EHojfwdLucI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EHojfwdLucI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> http://www.miwiki.net/Tales_of_Monkey_Island http://www.telltalegames.com/monkeyisland?gclid=CNbu6bDDkJsCFRNM5QodExBlqA http://talesofmi.net/ Also, they are remaking one of the classics.
If you play Civ IV, I know there's a package you can get for about $40 that includes Civ IV and the Warlords, Beyond the Sword, and Colonization expansion packs. It's the "Complete Edition" package. I saw it on Direct2Drive. I bought Sins of a Solar Empire a while back, but never played it... dang, I need to.
I think it did sell 4M+ copies, so it wasn't exactly ignored. Some of the bugs and performance issues sort of hurt the experience a bit, but that has pretty much been the case for every Bethesda game. I liked Morrowind equally as much as Oblivion, but then again, I use so many mods that some issues never bother me. I still have fond memories of Daggerfall. I figured this might be a perfect time to dig into the Monkey Island series again. On another note, I think I'd like to check out Telltale's other games. I love PC bundles.
Started playing Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines this weekend. The combat needed a lot more work and bugs can be annoying (I had one pretty bad bug even with patches), but everything else has been fantastic. Exactly what I was hoping for (actually, probably more). The Haunted Hotel quest was incredible, although it helped that I was playing it at 2 in the morning with headphones on. Hard to find many games like this these days IMO. Not done yet, but I definitely recommend that others check out this game, especially if they can overlook some of its flaws.
Yea. I really enjoyed that game too. I never finished for one reason or another but what I did play I did like a lot.
It does seem to be very inconsistent at times. I just finished a lengthy (and boring) sewers "level", which almost made me want to put it down despite how much I've been enjoying it. But it did lead to a new area, along with some new interesting Vampire/"Supernatural" lore. Not a perfect comparison by any means, but it does kind of remind me of Mass Effect in a way. But with Vampires instead of Aliens of course. (kind of Morrowind/Oblivion too, but on a smaller scale...maybe more like Fallout 3, but I haven't checked it out yet).
