I am curious if there are any places in Houston to catch a good amount of fish? I usually go the Galveston, although the drive is not bad, It would be nice to go somewhere not too far away.

Lake Conroe has great fishing right now. There are many places to dock and take a boat out. They even offer rentals of boats, jetskis, etc. If you just want to fish on shore, it is great too.

Toledo Bend is at the Louisianna and Texas border and also has great fishing.

I've seen many people park their trucks on the side of I-10 or Clay Rd. and fish on the little bayou/creek between Eldridge and Hw6. What's with that?

Weird, I was about to start this exact thread. I used to like going to the big pier out on the seawall but I heard that Ike destroyed it.

Sylvan Beach Park. Nice place and relatively fast to get to if you live in the south side. Map Link
