Assuming that we do choose Ming with the first pick, does anyone have a clue as to whether or not he might play in the RMR? I would love to get a full game's worth of looking at him in the US against future (albeit, rookie) competition.

We are not doing the RMR this year. I think we are doing something similar in LA with different teams participating. Unfortunately, I think Ming will be here with the Chinese National Team

I think we're going to LA instead this year. Ming won't be here though because he has to play for the national team in Indiana. He'll probably get here right before training camp.

Ming wouldn't join the team until midway through training camp, possibly even after preseason games have started. After the World Championships in Indiana, Ming goes back to China to play in the Asia Games. Don't expect to see him in a Rockets practice jersey until mid-October at the earliest. Another reason why Kelvin Cato will be their opening day starter.

At this time the Rockets won't be in the RMR this year, which sucks, because I was going to it....

They're competing out in Long Beach in the Summer Pro League there. Here's a link : http://www.summerproleague.com.

How is this bad? Won't we get to see him on TV when China plays Team USA?

Yes, and team China is also playing the United States on Aug. 22nd in an exhibition game in Oakland. I doubt that game'll be televised, but anyone in the Bay Area can buy tickets for the game at the NBA Warriors site.

Yao'll probably be going against Antonio Davis, LaFrentz, Jermaine O'Neal.... 3 of the better centers in the league.

Not to mention Ben Wallace, and Elton Brand who were added to the U.S. team yesterday.
