Agree with you. Rockets don't have size and athletisizm., Rockets don't have a game closer, and Rockets don't have a ball handler who's a great decision maker.

We should be proud of taking Lakers to seven games, but that means nothing next season. Talent upgrade is needed unlees Tmac can come back healthy and play like he's motivated every game.

Definitely. But Yao as well, if we could have gotten away from the Yao focused less on the predictable offensive patterns that the Lakers saw through. But ultimately it was defense that helped us push the Lakers to 7. Either of our big men would have helped maybe put us over the top.

The 2 biggest factors in the Rockets/Lakers series was the Rockets defense and the matchup problem that Brooks gave the Lakers.

Going forward, health issues with Yao and McGrady HAVE to be a concern. You just can't put all your hopes on these 2 staying perfectly healthy throughout a long season and into the playoffs. And we don't know if McGrady can or will be as he once was. The backup to Yao needs to be a good one, not just serviceable. And the fallback to McGrady's position needs to be the same. I don't know if Wafer can be considered a true heir to what McGrady brings/brought or not. I don't think I would stand pat in that regard. There are still needs at these two positions.

Wow 1 game with Yao in, that means Yao = Number 1 best center in the whole wide world. LOL. Idiot.

Look at the regular season. Lakers destroyed the Rockets 4 games to 0. With Yao Ming the best center in the whole wide world in the game. LOL

    Idiot.

when yao went down the lakers didn't even try. I watched the game and I can tell you that they just simply didn't try. they are mentally weak and we exposed that.

we didnt slow kobe, we just made it hard on him but WE DID slow down most of thier players. Odom wasnt Odom, AB took out fisher. artest outplayed ariza, gasol was ok. we gave those fakers troubles in most positions.

This fantasy basketball projection stuff is pointless. The Lakers obviously had a let down when Yao went out and we burned them a couple times on our home court. We were down two games to one with Yao so it's impossible to know how the series and matchups would have played out had he not been hurt.

leebigez is right, claiming to be the biggest challenge to the Lakers because of what happened in that playoff series is just fool's gold.

Leebigez, please go root for the Lakers, a real organization who make bold moves, and save us your perpetual whining about Rudy Gay, and mindless b****ing at Morey, even when the man hasn't failed us once.

Excellent post, exposing some truly delusional revisionist history by some.

I've said it before and I'll say it again,
I love it when our defensive juggernauts get big minutes...
    Shane, Artest, Scola, Landry, Hayes

Love seeing our team win with grit. Those guys are tough.
Honestly, one of them on the floor is tough, two is intense, but when you start getting three and four of them on the floor together, oh my is it tough on the other teams offense. I mean, if those guys were efficient offensively as a unit we would be championship material for sure.

So we had some good wins vs the Fakers, but the end result was the same as the rest of the competition. No prize for taking a team to seven. Only a prize for moving on.

Why bother with him. He is a guy who cannot think normally like a human being.

    What a great Rockets Fan!
Some fans here never gives up a single chance to bash the franchise player of his own team who always contributes more than 100 percent of himself to the Rockets!
    What great Rockets Fans!

Your comments are way too severe to be taken seriously.
    Such knee jerk reactions.

Consider (1) Rox win game 3 if Yao doesn't break his foot halfway through the game. And (2) Rox have a chance in game 5 and 7 with Yao.

Without Yao, we play perhaps the toughest defensive lineup in the league.
Leaving four of these guys on the floor together for almost the whole game... Scola, Artest, Battier, Landry, Hayes. Offensively though we are somewhat challenged. If that defense can create offense (home games in Laker series) then we dominate. If we don't get decent calls i.e. they take Hayes out quickly who was our only real solid answer for Gasol, then we get stomped.

I know its hard to root for Yao sometimes, because he is slower than most players, and in crunch time you want to see your star dominate in every way so as to compensate for your own shortcomings. But the reality is Yao is big and skilled, he is not quick. But he is also an absolutely dominant offensive force, which is something we sorely needed at times against the Lakers. End of story.

if yao alone had been healthy, we wouldve easily taken it all with denver being the biggest challenge.

alas, its all conjecture. what if.... blah blah.
surprised that lakers fans gave us some ****in credit.
kinda satisfied seeing kobe sweating n tired n saying he just wanted out of our series. but wouldve been better to see him cry after we beat them.

Umm... the other players didn't do jack BECAUSE we slowed Kobe. There's a reason why all the other players on the Lakers were actually defended. It's because we didn't invest too much resources in defending Kobe.
