Laker friends rubbing it in

I bet my friend lunch that Magic would pull it out against the Lakers. Now not only do I have to pay up I never hear the end of it. Not to mention all the ribbing that's been going on since our Rockets lost. =(

God I hate the Lakers.

 

this week is no different than last week. rockets were undermanned and lost to the lakers in 7 games in the conference semi-finals.

laker fan talking mess this year is the same that was very quite last year.

 

I can still rub it in on them that they needed 7 games to beat us when we lost our top two players AND our backup center.

I can still rub it in on them that they needed 7 games to beat us when our tallest player was 6-9 while they had THREE 7-footers in their rotation.

I can still rub it in on them that Kobe had to resort to cheap shots and overdone taunting against Battier and Artest.

I can still rub it in on them that our undersized 2nd year PG out played their "veteran" PG in whom Kobe and Phil trusted so much.

 

if there rubbing in the lakers win so much. Go ahead and paint there car yellow and purple. and scratch in 08-09 champs on the side with a screw driver. Thats what I would do.

 

Only reason Lakers won this year was because of injuries to KG, Yao, and T-mac

I agree. It's ridiculous to treat an institution with which you have no formal association as an extension of your manhood. But hey--at least the Lakers fans enjoyed the boring snoozefest of a finals series, because nobody else did. The only saving grace was that it was a half-decent Orlando team instead of a mediocre Cavs squad. The Lakers won a title without facing the NBA's elite (Denver was just a tease, against which LA played poorly), which is a bummer.

 

Hey, I shut up Lakers fans quickly: "Congratulations, your team deserved to win just like any other that makes it all the way through, they're #2 all-time in the NBA and much further ahead than the Rockets on the championship banners." Much easier to shut people up by agreeing with them on all points.

Doesn't matter that I think the Lakers have had a lot of breaks go their way (Shaq is the biggest one, they got him for nothing)- doesn't matter that I think they have an unfair advantage built in (who wouldn't want to play in Hollywood?), bottom line is that scoreboard is scoreboard- they've won more than every other team except the Celtics, and they won the most recent. So Lakers fans have every reason to celebrate.

Next year, when they get knocked out, Lakers fans can only use the "well, we won 15" argument. They're a harmless bunch.

Can't really blame them, I would have done the same had the Rockets beat the Lakers and eventually won the championship.

 

They all suck, tinman... the Fakers, the idiots who love the Fakers. Don't let it bother you. Just remind them of the WC series in 1986. No, it doesn't entirely make up for things, but they were the defending champs and huge favorites. We just killed them.

If your Laker friends are rubbing it in that their team won the championship this year, I think the solution is pretty obvious: don't be friends with Lakers fans. They suck.
