No you sound like me (I speak some hindi). Sorry we're not cool enough. Although when I was a kid I understood a decent amount of farsi since one of my best friends was Iranian and his mom spoke only farsi to everyone (including me) so I picked up a lot as a little kid. Sadly I dont remember anything anymore.
I was in LA for Game 7 a few weeks ago and it seems like Farsi is LA's third language (after English and Spanish).
Persian used to be the second language of the Mughal Dynasty of India, hence you have a good amount of similar words. Urdu is an iranian language, part of the eastern block of it.
I have Iranian (but not Persian apparently), Arab and Turkish roots. I speak Farsi but very non fluently and can't speak in a formal way.
Is anyone going to the protest tomorow by the Galleria on Post Oak and Westhiemer? It is from 5-8 P.M. Media will be there so everyone is encouraged to make signs/posters and wear green or white. Chilcutt
add me to this count. the language thing is one thing i don't like about tehrangeles. i can't openly talk about other people in farsi anymore.
