You are correct. In fact his first season as a starter (also his first year in Dallas) was his 3rd season as a pro, and he started every single game he played in that shorten season (averaged 8 and 6). The next year he only started half the games he played and missed over 20 games. My point was that realistically you do have to account for time. Time that it takes to cultivate and produce that caliber of player. Nash in his second year was 9 and 4 with a respectable fg% in about 20 minutes. I think conservatively this is what we could expect from Rubio, maybe more. I don't think it will take Rubio until 28 because Nash was 23 when he entered the league, thus that would have only been his 5th season as a pro. If Rubio is that productive by 23 (5 years) than you absolutely have to consider him if the price is reasonable.

The 4-5 PGs expected to go lottery means a top 10 pick. Just wondering how Morey can trade for a top 10 pick in this scenario. A top 10 pick worths at least 5+ millions. Throw in 3 millions cash, the Rockets will still need to take back a bad contract. Wizards, T-Wolves or Bucks can be trade partners.

I hope we can get Evans(that's if we are really looking for a PG) cause he won't be sitting for long.

MadMax, I am interested to know your opinion on Evans. Admittedly, the majority of the information I have comes from scouting reports and analysis rather than actual observation. From what I've read he has poor shooting mechanics, which is hard to convert into an efficient shooter. He also loves to shoot, 45% of his possessions lead to jumpers, to which he only converts 25% of the time into a bucket. He settles a lot and fades on almost every single shot, leaving many short. He only shot 27% from 3pt land but is not gun shy shooting over 3.5 a game. He also appears to be a shooting guard trying to play point, making "poor passes" that results in almost 4 turnovers a game. His decision making is described on multiple web-sites as "poor." Granted he can improve, but that instinct is generally built into a guy's DNA. He is dribble happy often causing the Memphis offense to "stagnate" as his teammates stood around and watched him go one on one.

As a pg prospect, you can't help but love his length and size. He is quick and can become a solid defensive player in our system. He does get to the free throw line attempt 5 free throws a game. He shoots them at a below average 71%. I just don't like the thought of a ball-dominant player who likes to go one on one only to fire clunkers. We've had our history with that. I mean is all of this off base? Is his shooting better than the statistics make it out to be? Does he take less jumpers than Synergy accounted for, and made more of them than they accounted for? I don't really know how accurate that system is. A 6'5 pg that can create would be awesome, I just want to know a little bit more about him, from what I've read, I don't know if I would be willing to pull the trigger.

Evans would be my pick if I had to a PG cause he can handle the ball, but Hardens, a SG is similar in size an maybe a little more athletic. From what I read on Hardens, one of his weaknesses and things he could improve on is his ballhandling. If the Rockets somehow sees him as a player able to play some a the point then he would might be the one. Hardens would be a great fit for the team too.

I've watched a few games of Evans at Memphis. Was not at all impressed with his shooting abilities. He can only drive. :/
I like Jonny Flynn, though. Great handles, decent defender, creates plays, drives, & shoots. Has a more rounded game than the other point guards.

I like him too but do we need another undersize PG? I really hope we don't go after a PG cause I think we are fine with what we have now. I think we need another scorer cause what killed us against the Lakers was that we weren't able to score with enough. It wasn't our defense cause we held them under their avg. PPG total throughout the series; esp. game 7 but we couldn't make buckets. We need a guy that can get us easy buckets and I don't know if there's a player in this draft that would do that for us nite-in-nite out. If I could make the choice I would go with Thabeet(need a true back center BADLY) or Harden/Demar.

He is more well rounded, but can he fit in a half court pick and roll setting with Yao? I wish he was a bit taller with more size as well.

If the Rockets do end up with a PG after the draft it will be via a 3 way trade to get a veteran PG not through the draft.

The Rockets time to win is now meaning they wont risk starting a rookie PG even if it is Rubio.

People are going too crazy on "news" like this. Rockets are interested in acquiring one of the top PGs in the upcoming. That's great. So is every other team in the NBA. What team out there wouldn't be pursuing Rubio?

forget about the target being rubio. he's the biggest name in the draft and teams are thinking of drafting him just to trade him to the highest bidder.

    not morey's style of acquisitions.

Don't know much about these players but Curry sounds intriguing. Good size, good shot and high BB-IQ, and great from the 3-point line? Sounds like a perfect fit for the Rockets.

Good size? Curry is the true definition of a tweener. To make it worse he lacks great athleticism, speed and explosiveness to make it up. It's going to be hard for him in the NBA.
