I guess u didn't watch the series vs dallas when yao and tracy was clunking those 4th qt free throws in game 4
Come ooooon, stop mention about Rafer for the loss. Rafer on the court, just like a coin has both sides. It's just a gamble..... Nobody are sure that Rafer could well defend Derik Fisher's 3 point shooting. I have already mention above, DH's free thows and SVG's stupidness are the reason for their loss.
Another thing about La, they don't beat themselves. They may play uninspired or not play hard, but they never to the ball more than their opponet. I still can't believe the no foul.
Well, the Magic should never lose this game. Just think about it: the Magic could be easily up 3-1 if not for Lee's blown layup in Gm 2 and Nelson gave Fisher 3 feet for a tying 3 ptr in Gm 4. Magic players blew IT. SVG blew IT. Magic players - missed FTs. SVG - at least put Rafer (or even Lee for a bigger body) in for the last 11 sec in regular time as defensive rotations. Can't figure out why SVG played Nelson from 1:28 at 3rd qtr through overtime.
Because people have the loser attitude. Its like rocket fans are cool with taking a team to 7 games like they get a medal or something. Just like now they give the last place kid a medal. Who cares, La is about to win their 15 effin title and houston has gotten past the 1st rd for the first time in 12 yrs.
Well, it's playoffs, talents prevails all the time. Why LA always had guys like Horry, Shaw, Fox, Ariza, Fisher to make big plays on big stages? Because they are always loaded with talents, those guys are important role players, and nobody relies on them to put up big games night in and night out. Why LA isn't worried that Bynum is in foul trouble every single game? They got Gasol, Odom, and also have semi-big guys like Walton and Powell, and I forgot Mbenga. That's lots of big bodies. While Rockets always struggle to put together 5 real NBA quality players in the starting line up. This year, we finally had 3 quality reserves, we passed the first round. It's all about talents accumulation. Attitude of fans? That doesn't matter.
I see what you said. Agree with you part of opion. I think we could take lakers to 7 games, underdog attitude is a partly reason, but most important reason is the confidence we earned from the first round playoff games.
I don't know if ya'll noticed, but Jameer Nelson is actually still out on the court playing. Seriously. Even if Orlando would've won that game, SVG would have lost Alston for the rest of that series. I mean, he plays a halfway decent game, and STILL gets benched for the final 17 minutes? Meanwhile Nelson doesn't score a flippin point, makes a HUGE mistake at the end of regulation and STILL stays on the court? Rafer would have pouted the rest of the series and been useless again. This is one instance where I'm scratching my head over a coaching move. While I'm posting this Jameer just scored! He's still playing!
One of the biggest choke jobs I can remember. ALL they had to do was hit 1 free throw or not let the lakers get an open 3 point attempt with like 8 seconds to go. The fact that Jameer backed off on a little stutter right next to the 3 point line still boggles my mind. Just a ridiculously stupid play, and I can't give him the instinct excuse because it was coming out of a timeout.
Which is always my biggest gripe about the rockets. Ariza was huge on the road in a pivotal game. He was aquired for nothing. They drafted bynum with their lotto pick even though kobe didn't feel like he had the time to wait for the guy. They traded shaq a yr early vs a yr late and got good talent in return. Butler,Odom and a throw in of grant. They're the best organization in sports over the last 30 yrs and its not even close. They count rings, not first rd passings. When they have a team that can't get it done, they trade those guys and get guys who will. I mean, 3 yrs ago the lakers were coming off their 2nd 1st rd exit and kobe was b****ing and throwing management under the bus. Now, they're in their 2nd finals appearance in a row about to win ring 15. Its easy to root against La, but they are as consistent as the day is long. Since 85, I think they have only had 2 lotto picks and none in the top 5. That speaks volumes on their franchise. If west or kupchak was running the rockets, tracy, yao, or both would be gone.
Exactly.... He basically dared Fisher to shoot it. It's like the pull up 3 pointer you give to someone when you're playing and you think the guys garbage so you don't even guard him and basically give him the shot. Except Fisher is one of the clutchest guys in the history of the NBA. Absolutely inexcusable by Nelson.
I was at the bar screaming for the Magic to foul before the Lakers could get a 3 pointer off in the 4th qt. Smh @ Stan Van Gundy playing Jameer down the stretch for so damn long and Rafer was not playing bad so that is why I did not understand that situation. The Lakers did not go to the free throw line in the 4th qt. and most of OT and the Magic still could not win. Pathetic performance down the stretch by Orlando.
All I know is that Magic win when Rafer plays in the 4th qtr .....look at the first half...Magic were rolling..getting open looks easy buckets..penetrating...the 3rd qtr was NOT Rafers fault...Magic didn't have an answer for Ariza...how is it Rafer fault guys were missing shots...Rafer was keeping them in the game...Rafer made key shots that kept it close...Magic played at their best against the Cavs & Celtics..this series?...not so much...Chemistry is something you don't mess with..Magic had a good thing going... I think it was a mistake trying to bring Jameer Nelson back off 3 months of surgey....bringing Nelson back threw off the chemistry..Rafer played great..Nelson played average...Nelson was not himself...Rafer was the better option and should have closed out the game...when SVG overplays Nelson and underplays Alston Magic lose...the first two games Alston's minutes were cut in half...it wasn't until this game and the last game that...Alston got his starters minutes back...if SVG had just stuck with Alston and not try to experiment with bringing Nelson back..I feel this series would be much closer...Nelson has been a step slow all series..unfortunately that cost them tonight...
^ exactly Jameer didn't deserve to play those kind of minutes. He wasn't the one who got the team where it was in the playoffs. He should be only be bench help at this point. Rafer should have stayed in. This game was a huge chokefest. It was really sad to watch because they could have had a win so easily.
Nelson had a terrible mental lapse on the first 3 by Fisher and the second one where he got elbowed was a travesty but Knock it off with the " Well if Rafer was in BS ". If it weren't for Nelson the Magic probably wouldn't even have built that lead in the closing minute and change in the 4th to choke away. Fisher and Kobe's championship experience >>>>>>>> anything Magic has to offer. Sucks but it's true.
