He pushed her after she said she would sign it because she didn't stay in place. She knew she was going to get it as soon as he said "You're going to get tased."
This is just some annoying parsing on your part. This woman is 72 years old. A police officer, a professional, should be able to deal with *this* woman without tasering her.
Elderly people need to know their role and shut their mouth. 90% of them are detrimental to society even when they are on their best behavior and when they get reckless and catty it's time to give them what they are asking for. Good job Officer Johnson, keep the scum off the road.
QFT! Grandma was being reckless like her ish don't stink. That juice wasn't playing though, lmao. "I'm trying..." lol.
Coming late to this thread but as some other posters noted it does seem like cops are getting itchy taser fingers. Tasers are in general non-lethal but there have been cases of them causing severe injury and death. Granny was being uncooperative but that cop needed to show some more restraint before going for the Taser. It seems to me like many cops are quick to use Tasers as compliance and submission devices rather than using restraint holds. I don't know if this is laziness or lack of training.
This cop was way out of line. The Tazer is suppose to be a last resort before lethal methods. Not a compliance device. Sign this ticket or I'll taze you is abuse of power. And what ever happened to a little pepperspray.
What video did you see? It was: "Get back" [granny doesn't] [officer takes out the tazer] "You're about to get tazed" [granny challenges him] ZAP! If you see a pissed cop asking you to do something... you still challenge him?
The POINT is it should gone as such: "Get back" [granny doesn't] [officer DOESN'T take out the tazer] "I am about to subdue you physically. I am trained to do so and based on your size I should be able to do without issue." [granny challenges him] He takes her down without barely a scuffle. And by take down I don't mean slam down and grind his boot into her neck.
I will never understand why some people insist on letting a simple speeding ticket turn into a ‘rage against the man’ moment. Just swallow your pride for a few minutes, say “yes sir” and “no sir”, sign the stupid ticket and take defensive driving online. Is it that difficult? Keep in mind, I probably average 1 speeding ticket a year and I’ve never gotten in an argument or been tasered by a policeman. Just swallow your pride, drop the attitude, sign the ticket and move on with your life.
If only they would understand this Ima....I totally agree. I dont even have to look at them....just sign and be on my way.
He wouldn't have to physically subdue her if she willingly put her hands behind her back in the first place. So if she doesn't, he uses whatever training he had and he grabs her arm and gets it done.

So . . next time a cop gets shot will we says. . . If you see a pissed off perp . .you still challenge him??? This is like saying. . . if you piss off your tech guy . . it is ok for him to fry your computer. Zapping people who 'challenged his AUTHORITAH!!!" is not his job Do you job . . . protect the public. . which includes b*tchy 72 yr old women not . . . .enforce you Authoritah!! Rocket River
Some people gleefully do things they aren't supposed to, then get angry when it's pointed out/when they are caught. Then it has to be someone else's fault.
This is simple so many time in the past it's been stated on this board just comply with the officers orders there wouldn't have been a problem. Yeah she was 72 but she had a bad problem with listening to the officer.
Please, this is not a challenging authority, this is resisting arrest. Whether is was excessive force is arguable, but you don't get away with trying to just walk off from a ticket, after being told that your going to jail if you don't sign. Just cause she is old and slow and couldn't actually get away doesn't change the fact that she tried, and will have ZERO defense other then the "I'm 72 b*tiches, leave me alone!!" Cry more...
What does this even mean?? RR, do you not understand that there is a slight difference between being a police officer and being and IT guy? The job descriptions are quite different... Police officers are supposed to protect the public, yes, but that includes protecting the public from reckless drivers, which is what this guy was trying to do.
