What is the likelyhood of LA taking Fatboy Taylor in a straight up swap for Horry. We need the experience, it would fill our hole at the 3, and we dont have to trade KT.

Perhaps this my own little pipe dream... Our #1 priotity should be to break up that odd, slightly erotic relationship btw Stevie and Cat. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I hightly DOUBT La will give up Horry for MoT. Horry is multidimensional. He grabs nearly 8 boards per game, 5 assists, and double digit points (from the playoffs). He also is clutch. Mo T is one dimensional. He is not as athletic as Horry.

Their salaries do not match. Give MoTa a chance. He will fit in with the team.

I was thinking the same thing because of the rumor about them wanting to trade up and draft Woods. Horry and Fox are the only two players that anyone would want from the Lakers and Horry wants to come back to Houston.

It's very doubtful with MO T's condition on the rehabilitated ankle which more likely might have re-occurance like Grant Hill. Who Knows? While Horry might not be the one of the best player that Lakers have but he shows a lot of heart during playoffs, when it gets tough, Horry delivers.I really hate to see him go with Sam Cassell, but then again, you don't live in the past.

    Man, That would be cool!
I liked BobRob when he was here, I hated seeing him and SamIAm leave..

But I doubt that the Fakers would do it even if it was financially possible (which I don't think it is).

In the dreamworld where this would happen, I wonder how long it would take for EG to win the starter spot over Horry?

how about Mo T for Marshall?
Utah could use a backup/replacement for Malone

Umm, the Lakers aren't trading Horry. There's no way. He has comfortably become their third best player. He can do everything. The only way they would trade him is if they get guaranteed value, like Brand or the other O'Neal, which won't happen anyway. The fact is, without Horry, the Lakers win 1 championship, not three. They don't get past Portland in 2000, and they don't get past Sac in 2002, period. Horry doesn't want to uproot his daughter again, either. Horry is staying.

Ever wonder why we don't see these threads in the regular season?

It might be because Horry halfasses it during the season.

And Maurice Taylor is better than Horry now.

wow, I expected you to be all for this trade. ;)

Some of you are WAY WAY overestimating Horry. He will not fetch a stud pf(or top 10 draft pick). Dude plays like crap in the regular season. His only redeeming quality is that he is clutch in the playoffs.

LA wishes they could make a trade like this.

When I read the rumor about LA and Woods, the first thing on my mind was "How"? The Lakers don't have any tradeable commondities.

I think Horry is an untouchable. Not due to talent but loyalty. Ironic on a Rockets board...

His value is greatest with the Lakers so even if the Lakers were willing to part with him, he definately would not get the Lakers a lottery pick.

    Ditto for Fox.

Fox and Horry for the pick? I don't think salary-wise that'd work unless the Lakers got the pick and junk which they are not willing to do. Neither would they trade 40% of the starting lineup of a team which won their third championship in as many years.

I don't even how West could make this work. Mitch I definately don't see it.

No team will trade with the Lakers w/o believing they are killing them in terms of talent for talent. If it's close, I don't think any team would do it for fear of a dynasty.

That being said, the Lakers will use their $4 mill exception and hope to get a 4 banger/backup 5 in the draft and free agent PG help. If they signed George that'd be gravy.

PS. Mo Taylor is trash. The Lakers want a PF that can play backup 5, board, and play hellacious D. Not a tweener 3-4 that is getting overpaid J. Howard style. Pass.

    In 3 games vs Lakers in 2000, the still adjusting MoT avg'd 12 & 7 against Ho Grant. In 4 games in 2001, Horry avg'd 9 & 8 aganst KT & EG.

Horry's half-stepping, I can turn it on at any time and I look great defensively because Shaq will bail me out attitude wouldn't be what I want to surround Ming & EG (let alone Cat & Steve) with.

MoT has more open market value than Horry. Just say no to Horry - the ultimate slacker.

FYI Horry's family lives in Houston.

If you didn't know his first daughter has a missing chromosome and basically lives at Texas Childrens Hospital.

At the end of last season he picked up the option at the end of his contract to come back with the Lakers. He openly stated he wanted to come back to Houston to be near his family but he didn't get much interest from us. I would have said prior to us landing Yao that Horry really wouldn't fit our team.

Now that it looks like Yao is coming on board Horry becomes the perfect post passing three hitting player that we need.

What is the status of his contract? Like I said I know he picked up the option for 2001-2002 did they sign him beyond that?

I don't think it's fair at all to say that Horry slacks off during the season just because his stats arn't as high. I mean afterall, look at Shaq and Kobe. They both average 25-27 points a game during the season but in the playoffs they've turned it up to the +30's and no one talks about them slacking off. However, Mo Taylor is not the scum everyone makes him out to be. He's proven to be a very capeable player and I don't know how true the statements about his gaining weight are. However, I know for a fact that before his injury, he was playing every day and had worked himself into the greatest shape of his life, along with KT.
