Hello everybody, i'm new around here so be easy on me plz.....
    Thoughts on the following guys:

Kenny Thomas, Kelvin Cato, and our 9th pick for Vancouver's 4th pick (Stromile Swift, if mihm declares) and Othella Harrington (as a back-up and for salary cap reasond if needed). Then we pick-up Jabari Smith when the 25th pick (i think) is given to us, and he can be the Center behind Hakeem. With the 15th pick (if given), i say we pick up Chris Porter and then we sign a good small forward (possibility for Jalen Rose).
    [salaries i don't know about]

Only problem would be much needed experience...

What this "franchise" needs, is a Swift draft this year...

For your sake, I hope we get him...otherwise, you'll have to change your name.

Swift looked great to me. But I'm terrible at measuring college PFs. All I know is CATO is 7 foot tall. And our best trade bait for any Dreamcasters.

    I thought Cato was 6'11".

    Hmmmmm.

    BK,

If you're going to do some Dreamcasting you need some good bait. What's the adage, "If you keep lying, people will start believing it."

Popeye first tossed us a Duncan bone, right!
To get there, maybe we are going to take a detour through Popeye's draft picks, first.

    Cato IS a 7 foot-er
    CATO CATO CATO

Actually, I was talking to my buddy, Joe McCarthy, who know EVERYTHING about the NBA, and he said that Cato had a violent stomach virus the last time he was officially measured, and that he could barely stand up straight. He said that Cato is almost 7-3 and has less than 5% body fat.

I've seen cato in person, and he looks a legit 7'2" to 7'3". But, rumor has it, he his vert is well over 40 inches and he can bench press over 350. I dont know what his forty time is, but im sure its in the 4.2-4.3 range.
Also does alot of charity work.

Achebe is right. Cato's left arm is not vestigial, despite rumors to the contrary.

My favorite Cato move was that killer crossover that made PJ "one of the best defending 4's" Brown fall down. Then he dunked it on Mourning.

My favorite cato moment, was when he Dream-shaked Shaq, passed up the open lay-up, Passed-off, went to the top of the key.. caught a pass, and took off from the free-throw line, and Jammed.

Remember that? (by the way, he's 7'8)

    Elie17

Just trying to up his "bait" status.

I know why the Cato bashing is happening and I have complained about his sadly unfullfilled potential myself. But at 6'11 he is half an inch taller than Dream. He has a very good wingspan and really good hops. He is also a quick floor runner as compared to just about every center out there. He is physically strong but alot of that is natural and not due to intensive weight-training. His movements around the hole are smooth but a lot like Rhodes when it comes to knowing he can put the ball in the hole without a dunk. His mid-ranger doesn't look to bad but his confidence can be shaky. He can get in foul trouble quickly too and can be flustered like Zo sometimes. If we get Swift as I pray we do I won't be worried that his post game is unrefined in fact I wouldn't want him demanding the ball down in the paint at all. Alley-oops will be the most devestating part of his game for the rest of his contract with us. I've noticed we are starting to get spoiled about the point position as we recently were about the center. Cato is going to be filling Stevie's assist column every night because he can do amazing things but not unless someone else initiates. He won't be Dream of course but thankfully we're not paying him to be. He is well compensated of course. I'd take 42 mil for 6 years in a sec but consider this, if we don't pay him in the preseason does he keep the intensity and demeanor for the remainder of this year? If so we might have worse lotto position but not quite make the playoffs and Cato might be paid more by us or someone else this summer. I kinda believe he can get the dedication he needs this summer and improve his game. He will suffer from bouts of no intensity in the future of course but if the coaching staff challenges him in the right way he can be more consistent. My guess on him for next year is 11points, 9boards, and 3 blocks after that for the next 5 years he'll average 13, 11, and 3.7
P.S. We need Stromile Swift really bad.
P.P.S. Also Mike Miller and Olumide Oyedidji for the icing on our championship cake.

    Guys,

We don't need to do the selling. Let Rudy do it. Does anyone remember him saying about Maloney, "When you look at him, he doesn't look that fast, but he has a way of staying in front of people as a defender." Something like that.

But if you're determined to sell Cato, start adding some other things. "He does all the little things. His contribution to the team doesn't really show up in the boxscore."

Sega Genesis is now called Sega Dreamcast. When you go fishing for the Dream FISH, you need live bait and need to do plenty of casting.

    Dreamcasting

plus, a Dream Team is a Dream cast as well, no?

Don't do Dreamcasting around me without bringing any bait.
    "Wouldn't it be cool if..."
"What do you think of this team..."
My motto is to just go play with Sega games and basketball cards, instead.

Remember last year with the Francis trade. How many people would bait their hook with MD and OH for a #2. Me Me Me. How many people would toss Cassell and Horry into a package for Barkley. Me Me Me. But not everyone.

Trades are tough business. That Popeye trade is going to cost us. I guarantee you every team in the league is asking Orlando for their #3. Who is prepared to offer a body? Me Me Me. Then we go into the rest of the summer with upgraded bait.

    Dreamcasting needs bait.
    Cato is a 7 footer.
Now or later this summer...Cato is GONE...bye bye.

I contribute to the team in ways that don't show up in the box score.
