It's all or nothing with you, isn't it? I'm not saying Shaq's only as dominant as he is because of the referees. He'd still be very good even if they called him consistently for dislodging his defender. But there is a thin line between very good (David Robinson, Patrick Ewing) and greatness (Hakeem Olajuwon, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), and I'm not sure Shaq crosses that line if officials called him for more offensive fouls. Oh, and in that same record book, there's a thing called box scores. Right where it shows 27 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter of an elimination game is where it screams weird to me...
Shaq gives offensive fouls if you go by the book, I'll agree with that. Do you agree that 99% of the NBA does those exact same moves and don't get a call? Do you agree that Shaq right now is fouled just about every time down the floor? If Shaq was a guard all those fouls that he gets hammered with would be called flagrants. I'm sorry your objectivity is so clouded by your obvious Laker-hate.
The league has, over ten years, determined that Shaqs post contact was not an illegal foul. Who are you the fan to disagree with them?
Do you agree that 99% of the NBA does those exact same moves and don't get a call? No, I haven't noticed anyone else dislodging his defender in the face and then elbowing them on a consistent basis. Do you agree that Shaq right now is fouled just about every time down the floor? Sometimes, but he gives out a lot more on the offensive end than he takes, IMO. If Shaq was a guard all those fouls that he gets hammered with would be called flagrants. If he was a guard they wouldn't have to foul him as hard. The only reason you see such hard fouls against Shaq is because of his size... if you want to prevent a three point play, you have to foul him hard or you can't stop him. I'm sorry your objectivity is so clouded by your obvious Laker-hate. And we know you and gettinbranded's bias would never be influenced by your love for the Lakers. The league has, over ten years, determined that Shaqs post contact was not an illegal foul. Who are you the fan to disagree with them? Huh? I'm not sure I understand this. Just because I'm a fan of a team or league doesn't mean I have to agree with everything they do. If you want to blindly agree with everything they do, go right ahead... but I know basketball too and I think differently. What's the big deal?
