Shaq would and will always be a top 5 center in league history. During his prime, no one can guard shaq once he gets the ball at the low post. If only he had a better free throw percentage, He could have several scoring titles.
Mark Eaton winning defensive player of the year (88-89 was a total travesty, like Camby winning it. People always put too much emphasis on stats. Even though, both are decent on defense, I don't think either player as good as the following players on defense, an older Shaq, Yao, older Mourning or Mutombo, Ratliff, and Okafor. Hakeem probably should've been, at least 2nd team or 1st over Ewing that year and been considered for DPOY, along with Rodman, Jordan, Nance, or Dumars.
