Done all the preparation possible. Ready to get it over with. Just relaxing today and doing a few arguments, a reading passage or two, and a couple of logic games tomorrow morning before the test. Anyone else on the board taking the test tomorrow?
My son took it a while back. He never had any formal instruction. he simply studied up over the Internet, took a couple of practice Internet tests and scored in the 160s. Although he never did make an all-star T-ball team.
I'll be taking them tomorrow as well. Been preparing ever since school ended so I'm just trying to relax today and get a good nights sleep before tomorrow.
Good luck! Just graduated from UT Law last month and now I'm studying for the bar. Just go in relaxed and remember to take a lot of time off today. You've pretty much gotten all the studying done that you can get done.
Don't really understand what there is to study... as long as you have a good idea of the test format and the time constraints, you'll do fine. Not really that different than taking the SAT, there's nothing to memorize, just be efficient with your time. The bar exam, on the other, hand... enjoy that in a few years.
Ugh! LSAT sucks! Logic Games are fun, but the rest of the exam is boring and I hated studying for it. Try to get some sleep because if you don't, you will tail off after the 2nd hour of the exam. Good luck to the both of you. And remember, its just a test.
Good luck man, I took it in Feb 08 and again in Oct 08. Just remember...it'll be over soon (and don't forget to get drunk tomorrow night)
I took it in Feb. Wasn't satisfied with my score. It was adequate, but not spectacular. I read up on the future of the law industry and law school and it just seemed like a big waste at this point if you can't get into a T14. Best of luck! Do not relax, be on your game!
Yeah I remember you had mentioned you took a course from Princeton Review. I ended up taking Alex's class and saw a pretty decent score improvement. Hopefully that transfers to tomorrow. But I plan on getting geeked up right before the test so I can dominate it.
Donny, if you can go to a law school in a major market and do very well, you don't absolutely have to go to a T14 school to be successful. You have good opportunities for internships being in a larger city and those internships are a good starting point for any job search in the legal market. It might not be as easy but it's definitely doable, though it is definitely harder now than it was just a year or two ago.
Most people do it in just a few hours, so I think you can do it in less than 24 if you really try. Good luck!
As was said before, either do well enough to get into a T14 or do well enough to get into a school in the next tier and then work harder than you've ever done so you graduate with an impeccable record. One or the other. The future of the law industry is no worse than that of several other areas.
Good luck! I thought about getting a law degree back in 2003 and took an experimental LSAT for free. I studied taking practice exams that I did well on but did awful on the experimental LSAT. That convinced me not to get a law degree. Hope that experimental one didn't end up being used.
Taking the test is the easy part. Waiting for the scores sucks. The admissions process sucks even more. In the end, the LSAT will be the easiest part of law school, hands down. So relax, you'll do fine.
Good luck. We all know how much fun standardized testing can be. I have the FAA Written coming up at the end of the month. Should be boatloads of enjoyment too!
The only thing I remember about the LSAT was the logic parts and specifically a question about different colored birds going in different colored cages..... and that UT beat Nebraska in the Big XII Championship that day!
