I have for one, have losttt all my respect for shaq.... when u have the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar questioning the maturity of shaq, isn't that sad? im sure many of us follow him on twitter and saw his bashing toward stan van gundy and howard?? I mean the only thing u can get out of this is that shaq is jealous of howard. You don't seen Jordan jealous of kobe or lebron, he doesn't say anything about it. Shaq is worried if Howard get a title with the magic this year, he is doing something for the city of Orlando that Shaq could not. I think he is just childish and immature.. I especially feel sorry for Howard since he looked up to shaq growing up and now this is how Shaq treats him??? how sad on Shaq's part...he should be mentoring Howard and giving him advice, but nooo she is just bashing Howard saying he will never be like me. here is an article on Yahoo about it too http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...?slug=aw-shaqhoward060509&prov=yhoo&type=lgns anyone else lost respect for shaq??
Shaq has been this way for a long time. That is why I did not get why a lot of people tried to blame the whole L.A. situation on Kobe, I always thought Shaq was more of the problem in L.A. than Kobe.
I respect anyone with the balls to speak their mind and not be influenced by anyone else. No barriers.
No, not at all. I don't blame Shaq. I would also feel insulted if a low IQ and a no post move player was compared to me an all-time great with 4 championships and 3 Finals MVP and a league MVP. Shaq's ego has always been big, but I don't blame him because back in his prime he would've mopped the floor with Dwight.
Huh? Low IQ and no post move player? Howard almost plays exactly like Shaq, hell I even think that Howard's free throw form is better than Shaq's. Shaq barreled through people his entire career and can't hit free throws despite his famous "I can make it when I need them." Shaq needs to seriously grow up. He's in the twilight of his career, this is how he wants to be remembered?
Shaq's arrogant as they come, but unlike many others, Shaq can back it up. He gives credit where credit's due (as he did with Hakeem), but he quickly takes offense to comparisons that he feels are an insult to his greatness. I'm sure alot of the great players are like this behind closed doors, but Shaq's just doesn't have the courtesy or desire to keep it there.
My already low esteem of Shaq is unchanged. I've always thought of him as a jerky yoyo. While I respect his NBA career greatly and he makes me laugh on occasion, Shaq talks too much for his own good. He's too petty and immature. I also don't feel sorry for Dwight Howard. Shaq diminishes himself, not Howard.
Howard playing like Shaq is about as accurate as Yao playing like Kareem. Shaq had one of the best pair of hands a center can have, and had a lethally soft touch around the rim. I can go on and on about how Dwight's game is inferior, but you get the point.
As a player? Definitely. Easily top 1-2 center of all time. As a person? Not so much. But then again, I can say the same thing about ALOT of great players, such as Kobe Bryant.
Well I respectfully disagree, from what I've seen, Howard has some good hands. Maybe I should have said that he plays like the Shaq from his Orlando days but it's not like Howard has reached his ceiling.
ppl tend to think Dwight is at his prime.. he is only 23 years old....wait another 3 years before you complain about him...he is very talented and will only get better and he just lead his team to the finals and a possible championship Dwight will get more rings then lebron, just watch
He does play like Shaq. What Shaq has on him is size, and that's it. Shaq's extreme size combined with his agility made him great. Howard just isn't as big. I don't like how Shaq seems to kiss Bryant's ass now that it's no longer en vogue to bash Bryant.
Honestly I think Shaq is jealous of Dwight and pissed that he stole his Superman title. But Shaq can eat a bowl of STFU, the dude picked like 10 nicknames for himself... The Diesel, Man of Steel, Kazaam.. blah blah... don't get butt hurt when someone steals your thunder.
Dwight does nothing but copy Shaq and they don't play alike. Shaq had post moves and a nice touch, Those are things Dwight needs to work on. Here are Dwight's future self claimed nicknames Shaq Daddy The Big Aristotle The Big Diesel And the one and only Superman Hakeem and Jordan are the only guys he respects because those are the guys that owned him.
Doesn't Shaq have a superman logo tattooed on his shoulder? Cause I don't remember such a rift between Howard and Shaq before that dunk contest. I think he probably feels that Howard is a fake compared to him and the title of superman is media driven because of a dunk contest. Shaq at age 37 can match him and at the same age Shaq was better. I think that is the foundation of it all.
