we're a great defensive team with this group. but we need the length down low. gasol, odom and bynum was just killing us when yao was out. i wouldn't mind having a few more athletes right now knowing that artest basically isn't his old self athletically and tmac basically favoring one leg. scola and battier isn't exactly athletic either. we're still a great team but i think adding athleticism is crucial this off season. i don't expect white panning out. dorsey is a good athlete, but he is still a question mark.

that means we don't do anything for the 4 position if nobody comes knocking.

both scola and landry shoot well over 50%. they are both good rebounders. i'd say landry is pretty consistent also, it's just that he gets injured at times. they are both good, it's just that they give up too much size and isn't a presence as far as blocking shots

that's an idea too.......but we can expect the player coming in return for chuck will be on the bench just like chuck was most of the time. if they both stay, you can expect scolandry splitting minutes unless certain match ups called chuck's number.

Right now Scola is better than Landry, so you should be able to get more for him, how much more may be the deciding factor.

Landry is younger than Scola so the natural argument is to want to keep him around and see how he develops. Also don’t forget he was coming off a GSW, and probably wasn't 100% in the playoffs. (confidence or health) The counterpoint is we already know what Scola brings.

I would hate to see either of them go, we just have too many undersized power forwards so we can expect to trade one of them.

The question is "Who do you trade?" but the poll options are, confusingly, "keep Scola" and "keep Landry".

You poll makers never take the simple route, do ya...?

And for the record, I would keep Scola. Sure he's older, but his type of player is much harder to find. Landry and his role can be replaced fairly easily through the use of the MLE or similar amount of money.

sorry i actually had it right but then i some how changed it because i didn't want to see neither leave so it kinda reflected on the poll.

Completely depends on who we're trading for. If we're shopping for a high-dollar, starting power forward, I'd trade Scola. He'll fetch more talent in a trade. Plus, he's starting quality, so you wouldn't want to pay him starter money to come off the bench, and he wouldn't be happy coming off the bench either.

If we're shopping for a different position, even if we get a lesser power forward thrown in, you'd keep Scola. He's our starter and the better player. Of course, if he's the deal breaker for Chris Paul, I'd throw him in and take my chances with Landry and Hayes.

    keep both.

though, for age and contract reasons, i would lean towards keeping landry if including scola was a make or break deal.

I would trade Landry if it came down to those two, Scola is a much better overall player.

For the most part, Scola was our best player last season. It would be stupid to trade him unless we got a superstar, because he's probably going to peak at borderline all-star level in the next couple of years.

Landry has a lot of potential, but he needs to work more on his handles and shooting and play small forward instead.

I think Landry has more trade value, particularly with the type of teams Rockets are likely to be trading with, i.e. teams looking to rebuild. They probably prefer a 25-26 year old rather to a 29-30 year old.

It all depends on what kind of market is out there, though. If someone has an Argentinian fetish and wants to overpay for Scola, great.

If there are no good deal out involving ether of them, keep them.

If I had to choose for now I would take Scola. If I was making a move for the future I would trade Scola and keep Landry. I think Scola would bring more back in a trade and Landry is several years younger.

do either of these concern you?

    scola's age
    upcoming contract

and, do you think that landry could potentially develop in to a better player than scola is currently?
