that's how they roll right? but seriously, dwight has had a better start to his career and probably is having a better career than both tracy and yao. that's just sad.
DH isnt the main reason why Magic in the final. no question that he is top 2 center in the NBA.but saying he is better than Yao? not until he faced what Yao has been faced, double team, front and the way players defend him with whatever they want and no refs gonna blow the wishle.one thing is very clear,if Yao got traded fairly he can score 30+ easy.
really? like him enough to want him traded for a backup C + playmaking wing? i've even prayed for tracy to be traded this offseason so he won't be a distraction to our team NEXT year. but you def. jock yao. every GM would take howard over yao right now without thinking twice. but you probably disagree with that.
As stated, this is pretty r****ded. It's like what they said during the broadcast, does Kobe really need to win in order for us to know he is a great ("amazing") player?
that's a joke, right? quick, name the best big man dwight played against these playoffs... that's right. now sit down and shut up.
Being the underdog in both series and coming up big has to account for something. The era of dominant centers is pretty much dead so there isn't much competition. I remembered plenty of games were Kendrick Perkins played well against Yao and Zagunas illglowgas (sp) isn't too shabby either if you compare him to centers these days. He's definitely better than Oden and Pryzb imo. So what is there to sit down? D12 made it to the finals while Yao has only been out of the first round ONCE in what? 7 tries? His stats are better than Yaos and he has taken the Magics further.
b/c howard tries to dunk EVERYTHING. and they even publicly stated they want to "foul" him. people can complain all they want, if you take it hard to the rim, you will get calls (like people complaining about lebron getting all the calls--compared to kobe today, who just shot jumpers). if yao take it to the rim, he'll get his calls. again, please put the argument back in perspective. nobody is denying yao is the better OFFENSIVE player. NOBODY.
The bias from referees couldn't be more obvious from this stats considering how many touches Yao gets.
name any good center in "general." also, when you're a superstar/star, you don't just go against that one player. the entire team is trying to stop you.
Kendrick Perkins, who contained him and scored on him. That's why he averaged a double double against Howroids. All said and done, Perkins let Howard get his touches and he pretty much had the same stats Yao had against the Blazers despite Yao being fronted and doubled in every single play. While they let Howard TRY to score on him while he failed. The only difference is that Howard had more rebounds that's it. Sad on Howard's part really.
The Yao haters were just foaming in the mouth pouncing on Yao for DH's great game vs Cavs even though what he faced is a big Z.
notice you're only looking at POINTS. and again, if you're just talking about offense, YAO IS BETTER. that's a given. so what are we comparing here? best offensive center? or best overall center? that's a HUGE distinction.
I love Yao, I just hate his hardcore nuthugging fanbase. The ones that try make excuses for him whenever he does bad and trash other players that are getting more credit than him.
his team is in the finals, and he's their best player. so what do you think? both the cavs and lakers, who have the height to challenge him, doubled/tripled him all night long. again, he's not the best offensive player, and he's not gonna be the greatest center we've ever seen. but overall, he's the best center in the game. if we have him on our team, we'd be better b/c it fits the style of game that we want to play under adelman (hence how we played the lakers when yao went down and played fine, except on the road).
