what a f****** PU$$Y the guy will do "whatever it takes to protect this country" as long as it doesn't include actually fighting or it.
It's a shame that Jesse cashed-in on his governorship to re-market himself (book deals, wrestling and XFL broadcasting gigs), and at the same time couldn't effectively work with Dems and Repubs in the Minnesota legislature, all while his party was temporarily hijacked by Pat Buchanan. Otherwise he might've been a good figurehead/candidate for third-party politics, as long as he didn't look like David Crosby on HGH.
I don't think torture is as big a recruitment tool as all this talk makes it out to be, it’s not as though the Arab world does not know that there was torture being done. I know pictures can be a powerful tool, but as long as they know it was done and it’s been admitted how powerful can this be. .....the lady in the video looks damn scary....
Wait, are you calling Jesse Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, that or that FOX hack? Water-boarding is torture. It doesn't yield information no matter what Cheney tells you. In fact, the CIA denounced him and pretty much said he way lying when he said it yields good intelligence (see below). We're America. The onus is on us to take the higher road and avoid cold Stalinist/computer logic on how to retrieve information: sacrificing one Arab-looking dude for the sake of the many. It's not about the numbers, it's the principles of our Constitution. "SEN. JOHN McCAIN: First, subjecting prisoners to abuse leads to bad intelligence because under torture a detainee will tell his interrogator anything to make the pain stop. Second, mistreatment of our prisoners endangers U.S. troops, who might be captured by the enemy, if not in this war then in the next. " http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/05/29/levin.cheney/
I disagree. Not every person is current on America's torture escapades, and with new photos being released, there will always be the possibility that to assume the torture depicted is recent and still happening with this new admin. **** Fox News. Who the hell do they (the shills they promote) think they're standing up for?
Fox 'n Friends are standing up for AMERICA!!! THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!! DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT!!?
You really think they believe this new admin means no more torture? Once it was known that the U.S was torturing it just reassured something they already probably thought was going on, any possible doubts went to the dumpster. It doesn't matter now how many new photos keep coming out, those that were motivated to join a terrorist group due to torturing would have already enlisted. You've got to understand that these people already blame the US for everything...new photos are not going to raise anger or motivation as its already had its effect.
Fine, you disagree with the "danger to our troops abroad" argument. What about the "principles/Constitution/" or "torture doesn't yield good intel says CIA" argument? Bottom line: it shouldn't be done.
I'm not pro torture.....I just don't think its a big deal in perspective of what goes on throughtout the world, we live in a cruel world, that's all I got to say about that.
There could very well be torture that comes directly from the Obama admin, but tangible proof still trumps calculated reason. Sure, the more hardcore and extremist elements don't need much to join, but every extremist movement needs a willing public for the terrorists to blend in. Releasing those pictures ups the willingness of inhabitants, in say Iraq or Afghanistan, for the insurgents to recruit and operate unopposed.
