AB is wildly inconsistent: when he was good, he was very, very good, but when he was bad, he was very, very bad. Consistency should come with maturity, I hope. I like Lowry, but he has Rafer-like shooting skills. At points in the playoffs, he couldn't seem to even make a lay up and could rarely put two free throws together. I would vote neither. I think we STILL need a veteran PG. Brooks and Lowry would be a great 1-2 punch off the bench. An older PG like Nash (just dreaming) with a year or two left would be a great fit.

Agreed, neither of them would really be starters for other teams if they played for other teams.

And for those of you laughing at Lowry for being behind Mike Conley, it's not any funnier than Brooks being behind Rafer Alston. Considering the fact that Rafer Alston has had the same problem his entire career, Mike Conley is still young with loads of potential.

I think Brooks has shown he could start over other starting PGs like Steve Blake and Derek Fisher. Most of starting PGS are just roleplayers.

huh? 16 teams in the playoffs and count how many are merely role players. the 2 you listed coincidentally were the only 2 that were on par or had matchup problems with ab.

Please stop messing up the team to make Yao more comfortable. Putting AB on the bench doesn't solve the fronting problem. If every team in the league doesn't front Yao, they are morons.

We need a coaching team to figure this out, don't focus on anything else. We need Morey to scam the Clips for Camby, DeAndre Jordan, and Barron Davis (who can play the 2 and score from anywhere) for Tmac and Barry expiring contracts.

    Mike Conley
    Devin Harris
    Derek Fisher

Chris Paul is the best person to pass the ball to Yao.
    Neither Brooks nor Lowry.

Aside from the aforementioned Fisher and Blake, Mario Chalmers (or at least he will be someday), (though I still do love him) Rafer Alston, Mike Bibby and personally I think Jason Kidd(decline) are all definitely slightly more or less a role players on their teams. None of these guys are or should be looked to as the go to guys on their team when the game is on the line, they are usually asked to step up only when all other options are closed.

I'd also like to add to this fire that Aaron Brooks probably had the fewest starts at point guard then any other starting PG in the playoffs, including the two rookies Rose and Chalmers. Personally, I think Brooks has a tremendous upside that needs some nurturing but can be very beneficial for this team.

    Keep both as is.

Aaron is still a little erratic and likes to look for his shot more than his teamates, but he showed me something this postseason. This will be his 3rd year in the year and I am expecting him to have a phenominal season. Love Lowry as the back up and we have the luxury to play them at the same time. Lowry, despite being undersized at the 2 on defense(while AB is at the 1) is Chuck Hayes-like with a strong base. I see Kyle also improving leaps and bound as he gets even more familiar with Adelman's system. Adelman would love to have a Bibby/Bjax-esque combo here and I believe he is getting close to that.

Both are only going to get better.

Lowry is very nice. But it's a shame to say bench Brooks after his monster playoffs performance.

This is one of the most illogical threads I have ever seen.

Trading away the player that was the sole mismatch for the opposing team that won the two games for the rockets after Yao went down.

Aaron Brooks doesn't deserve the disrespect he gets on here.

I think you need to double check your list.

    Devin Harris is a Star.
Jameer Nelson is a Star. He will start over Rafer NO DOUBT.
Baron Davis is still a star when he's healthy.

All 3 of these young guys are on the verge of stardom.

    Rondo
    Stuckey
    Westbrook

Nice players who are more than just "role" or play bigger roles for their teams.

    Calderon
    Bibby
    TJ Ford

Players you forgot that I'd take over Brooks/Lowry

    Jason Terry
    Kirk Hinrich
    Nate Robinson
    Raymond Felton
    Randy Foye

My point? I love what Brook/Lowry bring to the table but don't get it twisted. There is a TON of quality and talent at the PG position around the league.

You have a good point, everybody has a Star PG except the Rockets and 2-3 teams.

Aaron Brooks is probably going to have to be in it and for salary issues, I believe Tracy McGrady will have to be involved.

Hopefully we can get other guys in return as well and we trade some fillers if we need to like Brent Barry or Brian Cook or something.
