As much as I despise the Lakers, I'd have to root for them. Orlando just doesn't deserve a Championship. They aren't the best team this year. Not by a long shot.
I don't undertsand how they "don't deserve" a championship. They beat the champs, they beat the MVP, they beat a young athletic sixers team who sweeped us this year and played their heart out through every game. The best team doesen't always have to be deservant of the championship, it's the team that spills their guts out through every single game. (see 2007-2008 superbowl)
hey it's David Stern! jajajaja anyway, no one can decide who is better....that's why there is FINALS. so to say they don't deserve it after the teams they beat in the playoffs (BOSTON, CAVS)...is so idiotic. they are both champs of their conference....they will determine who is better in the Finals. and Yes Lakers are favored, but i wouldn't be surprised if the Magic take it home.
L.A. has too much talent, and matches up well with orlando. ariza and odom can both guard turkglu and lewis while cleveland had varejao out guarding lewis, just mismatches all over the place. as much as i want orlando to do well now that we're out, i think the lakers just have too much talent.
Hey if takes over paying a starter and contributing to a title it works, but if you over pay Baron Davis and go to the lottery its a bad deal.
ahh rashard lewis. i went to elsik high school, about 5 years after he left to the NBA. just knowing that, if the magic can win the championship, lewis went to my high school and he'll be representing the area known as alief. hope he can be a big part of their future success in this series.
I was thinking about this earlier as well. I'm rooting for Rashard, but I'd root for whoever is playing against the Lakers, Lol.
Alief representing! I went to Hastings though...used to see Rashard around town before and even after the draft, since it was the lockout summer.
The best team? They beat the best team in the NBA this year, they took out last years champs...i think they deserve it just as much as anyone... Lakers barely got passed a team without two of their superstars...and have no killer instinct...come on if any deserves this, its orlando! Chilcutt

Deserve is a pretty stupid word in sports. I'm glad that basketball is a game that is played out and winners are based on a score, not by the subjective opinions of who deserves it. that would be stupid.
i would love for the magic to beat the lakers and rafer/rashard get a ring instead of pau/sasha/kobe.
That logic doesn't make any sense. If that is the case we should just not play the playoffs and crown whoever has the best regular season record as the Champions.
If they win, they deserve it, unless they cheat or somehow the competition is not fair. The definition of a champion is the best. That's why you have to play to earn the title. Or else, you can just do some computer calculation and determine who "deserves" to get the crown.
