If he retires and gives up that $14 million, I will kiss a donkey's ass. Throwing away that kind of money is turrible. I guess he feels turrible about robbing the Cavs when the reporters are around.
He has 14 million reasons to return next year. He can mail it in at the start of the season and the cavs will likely put him on the inactive roster. He'll still get the 14 million, just wish I was in his position right now
He had a very good career. Maybe even HOF consideration. That championship Piston was one of the best i've seen at working as one cohesive unit.
He's not going to walk away with nothing even if he does retire. The Cavs can give him 1/2 of what he is making and come out even because of the luxury tax. I'd take 6 million to sit at home if I had all the injury problems he has and I hated coming to the gym every day.
Welp... slowly, this Cavalier team is going to fall apart. Daniel Gibson isn't the same, I think he'll be traded, Z, Ben, and Joe Smith are pretty old, may retire.... LeBron could be gone by 2010... Wally will be gone now that he's a FA... Mo and West will stay along with Varejao. They don't have many players after that, the rest are scrubs.
Well, if he's injured he could just be inactive and sit at home anyway. Considering how much NBA players spend, leaving any significant portion of the 14 mil is probably not a good idea. I like how he says "money is not a factor" when it's probably the ONLY thing he's thinking right now. If Cavs weren't paying him any money, Wallace would've announced his retirement already.
Ben's wife won't let him do it. Ben's wife will say, "You better haul your ass for another 10 months and get that 14 millions b4 you stay home."
Doesn't he get the money if he retires anyway? I mean unless he has like a clause of some kind about retirement in his contract, I believe he still gets that 14 million whether he plays or not.
I'd want to retire too if I was a former DPOY and my coach had me riding the pine continuously while Dwight Howard was busy tearing Big Z a new one for six games straight in a conference finals.
Wallace had no prayer of guarding Howard either. The Ben Wallace that exists today plays NOTHING like the guy who won DPOY.

Unfortunately,that's true. Ben Wallace was one of the greatest post defenders of all time at his peak.The heart and soul of the Detroit Pistons championship team. If he decides to call it a day now instead of completing his contract,that would really show he thinks the game is bigger than any individual.
If it's medical retirement, yes, Ben'll get his money. BUT, Ben is not thinking of medical retirement. He feels like he gets no passion for the game and too much injuries for him to work back in shape to stay on the bench. He may negotiate for a buyout and it really depends on what the Cavs management thinks. It's a guarantee contract, yes. But you can't say I don't like to work but I want my money. That's why Ben said: But I highly doubt that Ben Wallace will leave all his money on the table and just retire.
Never liked that guy at all. I think it's hilarious watching him out on the court looking 50 years old. Stick around one more year Ben so my friends and I can keep debating on whether you or McGrady has declined physically the most.
