Just saw this and wanted to share... http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...cavaliers-notes-31053109may31,0,4909212.story Do you think it would help the Magic in hopefully beating the Lakers? Or disrupt their momentum and chemistry, even though it would only be 15 minutes a game.. Chilcutt
LOL! Anyways ..Naww Jameer Nelson shoudnlt rush his comeback..it'll make it worse..and he probably woudnlt make much of a difference imo
Jameer Nelson was interviewed before on of the Eastern Conference Finals games. He said he hoped to be ready for preseason. Nelson isn't even cleared for contact drills yet.
If he starts in this series and they win you I know people on this MB that said "You can't win a Championship with Rafer Alston as the starter" will use this excuse. lol I don't think he will play though.
So, what if the Magic do win the championship? I'm still glad the team traded Rafer. The Magic win most of their games in spite of Rafer, kind of like Rockets did. For some reason, he gets the green light here to shoot as much he wants.
Look, I'm no Rafer fan, but to say winning "in spite of him" is unfair, rude, and wrong. Rafer's play (good or bad) directly effects the Magic's chances. It's not just about shooting. Shooting is very important, but it's not everything.
Jameer was a big reason they swept the season series with LA, but JAMEER would LOVE to come back and play in the finals, but he shouldn't and the team wouldn't want him to since it could affect his recovery... thats why he said he is shooting for preseason so DON'T EXPECT JAMEER BACK
This is a completely ignorant statement. The Magic don't win most of their games "despite Rafer." Teams don't go to the NBA Finals by beating teams playing the majority of them 4 on 5. That makes no sense whatsoever. The Magic are a good team, but they needed Rafer to get to where they're at. If you can't accept that, then that's on you.
Bad idea... Jameer will be out of shape... he'll ruin the chemistry that they've developed since getting Alston... I wouldn't do it. It's too late for that road now.
i know youre being fictitious but anyone that watched basketball knew the cavs couldnt beat the magic. in all the games the cavs played the magic, they didnt have a chance. most people who said the cavs were gonna steamroll to the finals were the media. at least to me, i could tell the cavs had little chance. so.... yeah
The Cavs definitely is capable to beat the Magic. The first two home games, they built large leads and then lost it, and both game came down to the last seconds. While they could have been swept by the Magic, they also could have led the series 3-1 if a few shots went in for them or Magic missed a few shots. They definitely have the talent to win. IMO the thing that hurts the Cavs the most is their easy steamroll to the conference finals. They played great against two far inferior teams, and they missed the crucial experience how to fight an uphill battle, which the Magic learned the hard way in two tough series. Just look back to the first two rounds, the Magic choked away 4th quarter leads left and right that a 10 pt lead for them just makes you more nervous going into the 4th. But they learned the lesson, and they played great closing games the whole series. Cavs on the other hand, panicked and just became a Lebron show, hoping one man to carry them through. Had the Cavs played someone like Boston in the previous rounds, I think they would have done a much better job.
2 things: The Cleveland Cavaliers weren't going to beat anybody with their atrociously disgusting pick and roll defense and head-scratching defensive matchup decisions (West on Turkoglu and LeBron on Rafer? Seriously?) "A team that starts Rafer Alston at point guard can never win an NBA championship".....I'm sure we've heard this one stated unequivocally before here, haven't we?
No way that the Lakers will kill them. I think Orlando will steal one in L.A. and take the series in 7...Orlando is the hottest team right now, they have the momentum and confidence..the Lakers have shown to not have that killer instinct...I don't see Lakers containing Dwight Rashard or Hedo...maybe one but not all 3.. I agree. Even if he does come back and play, I do not see him taking over the starting job. This Orlando team asks Rafer to do what he does best, which is veteran leadership, facilitator, and cur down on turnovers. That's why even though Rafer is shooting below 40%, Orlando still manhandled Cavs. Magic knows what they are doing, and inserting Jameer into starting lineup after not playing for 4 months would spell doom for Orlando.
