Why does everybody think that there was a conspiricy???? is it something americans? i'm from holland and i do not understand it, the lakers are the best team in the nba, they have 2 great clutch players (Bryant Horry) and the most dominant center. The reason that the king made it a game 7 serie is that the lakers underestimated them the whole serie, the most important games, Shaq dominated, he dominated bad. The lakers are to good this year. because Shaq isn't 100% healthy they have problems with the kings, don't get e wrong the kings are verry good, but they can't stop shaq. I'm getting tired of hearing a lot of people saying that the lakers didn't deserve it to be in the finals, the only reason the may not have deserved it is that they are very arogant. there is no conspiricy, the lakers are the best if they play with a 100% effort.
Overall you are right. And I really do think it "was" an american thing. It happened over a week ago and I barely hear talk about the conspriacy thing. It was a short tempered attempt of ours to try to get over the power that the Lakers can bring to the table day in and day out.
The only people who use the word 'conspiracy' are the ones falling over themselves explaining there isn't any conspiracy. The people who are complaining aren't complaining that there was some master plot, only that the Lakers were given a gift by the refs. Gifts from the refs do not rise to the level of conspiracy; the complainants are not paranoid. They are simply upset about an unlevel playing field. You don't need to believe in conspiracies to see that the game was called unfairly, just a passing knowledge of the game.
I was just disappointed the Kings lost. Just as I was for the Rockets when they fell short in the playoffs in 97' when Stockton drilled that three sending Jazz to the finals. The series was very emotional for everyone that got into it. Some of the calls in game six and five were questionable and went both ways. Which led some to blame the officiating because it was so inconsistent. Its not the ultimate down right reason Kings lost cause their free throw shooting at the end of game 7 could had been better to be honest but for it to be this big of an issue something is wrong with it. Dick Bevetta has definately done better.
