Eddie Jordan is the new head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving Sacramento's vacancy as the only remaining coaching opening in the league.

NBA coaching sources told ESPN.com on Friday night that Jordan and the Sixers have reached an agreement on a multi-year deal to reunite the former Washington Wizards coach with Sixers president Ed Stefanski after Jordan and Stefanski worked together in New Jersey.

I think this could work if they get a good PG to replace Andre Miller.

    great hire for them.

up tempo is the style that got them to the playoffs the past two seasons. slowing down for brand really hurt their team (and got cheeks fired for the team "underperforming").

jordan is a great offensive coach. especially great run n' gun coach. they should be on their way up as a young team. now they need to find a taker for elton brand. good luck!

This should help them as far as offense goes... I hope they get a good assistant coach for defense, that's what they are lacking right now.

They have Lou Williams who is a very nice player. He played well in the playoffs.

The 76ers can be good.. they don't work with Brand though and need to trade him while he still has value.

Brand has very low value now.

But... he can be a great big man for the 76ers. He is very athletic, athletic enough to run and gun.

Average? Not sure about that, Jordan beat out a lot of qualified ex-coaches for the job in an intensive vetting process. I wish Thibodeau could get one of these vacancies but he seems destined to be the bridesmaid and not the bride.

They need a legit veteran right now. It's doubtful Lou Williams will ever be a starting caliber PG, but he has a couple more years to prove himself.

Underrated coach, he'll do fine in Philly.

His next four years, he'll be paid.

    $14,858,471
    $15,959,099
    $17,059,726
    $18,160,354

This is a textbook example of wrecking your team with one bad contract.

Well he has been a proven all star his whole carrier so I'm not writing him off as a bad contract just yet...
