That was pretty good ... I used to hate country but now thats what i listen to the majority of the time... I cant relate to selling crack and driving bentleys but most of the country stuff I can....
I caught it right before Jamie Foxx went on and ended up watching more of it than Lakers-Nuggets. Some really good singers doing some of the best country songs ever. I didn't see this one last night, but thank God for YouTube. John Rich does "Amarillo by Morning": <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7eDDiQITxmI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7eDDiQITxmI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I didn't realize this was on. I like me some George Strait. I'm a huge Garth fan, but I like George, too. I respect Jaime Foxx a ton. You can tell the dude just loves music in general. He's a very talented guy, too. It's too bad he puts out this electronica crap. His voice is great. I'm gonna have to check out the rest of those videos. I'm in the minority....I like all kinds of music, but I grew up on country. I still like to listen to some country on the radio, too. Guys like Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, etc. These guys are good. Especially Urban and Paisley....
That was pretty awesome. I listened to country when I was a kid and drifted away from it when I got older, but a lot of the 'old' country still brings a smile to my face. Of course George was one of the big ones for me back then.
He's a little bit pop, but so are a lot of the country singers nowadays. Thing I like about him and Paisley is they're both pretty dang good at the guitar, also. I wish that the guy that sings for the 3 piece group Lady Antebellum would just go solo. That guys got a great voice....
wow, only took Foxx 4 solid seconds to play the race joke. HAHAHA so funny, I'm black, George is white. LAWLZ. Jamie has a good voice......but this just sucked.
Im not into R&B but I really like Jamiee. You can tell with what all he does he appreciates music. But I was raised on country and love this stuff.
Jamie took a great country song and put his spin on it and it still sounded great. And it's Turl, Texas.

So folk and country music two different genres... What would you classify Johhny Cash or Bob Dylan?? I lean towards Old Skool Country...
I don't know about electronica but he's one of the many R&B singers who seem to have a lot of talent yet choose to make crappy music. I guess there's just so much more money in dance songs...i can't blame him.
